loved the agro. The forwards in the game all showed some beast at one stage or another, no backwards step.

We sadly lack the agro. I've seen Ponga cop some high shots that warranted retaliation but not a Knights forward to be seen. Until we get some mongrel we'll be in the bottom half of the table and bullied every game.

Hit the nail on the head. Our only forward who shows any agro is Barnett but he can't do it on his own. We need a couple of guys who will fire up and scare people a bit. Sadly our forward pack doesn't intimidate anyone.

For this reason I think we need to have a good look at Shannon Boyd or Josh Papalii. They're both carrying some extra timber at the moment but if they're prepared to trim down during preseason and play bigger minutes they would fit the bill imo, that being said needs to be for the right price.

That being said I think Leeson Ah Mau is the right direction to take and I'm glad we're talking to him. Runs hard and tackles hard which is good to see.

Also for the record I rate Tim Glasby, I know he's not the big angry guy we're looking for but by all reports is super professional and gets his job done, went pretty well in Origin last year too so has the temperament to play in big games. He's probably a younger version of Heighington but I don't see that as a bad thing considering Heighno probably won't be there next year.

Pangia is good and we/I want him but we need a leader, big hard prop with a bit of animal in him that encourages and inspires others, sign him but chase the big guy that we need, D & J Saf, Esee, Pangia all very good players, developing and young with a few years of developing all could be great but need guidance, leadership on the field.
We will lose Heighinton and possibly Lillyman this season so need to find someone, NOW.

TPJ is a leader already. You don’t need to be old to be a leader. At any rate isn’t that what we brought Guerra here for?

Bennett subbed Pangai with Sims late in the game. That was basically the end of the aggression and any Broncos comeback. He IS their best player imo. Can change a game in 5 minutes. Whether he can do that consistantly as he gains more experience and with the possibility of a motza contract under the belt is another thing. But he is an absolute beast with aggression and skill. He is quick across the ground as well. Seems to be quick up top too looking at the try he laid on last night. Read the numbers and gave a beautiful ball close to the line. He can whack a ball carrier and force a dropped ball or error at will.

I keep seeing reports we are offering 600K for Glasby. I find that hard to believe unless I'm watching something different to Brown and Mooney??

Did anyone notice what Sims contributed when he came on late in the game when Tevita went off? First hit up he was driven backwards like a rag doll and stopped the Broncs forward momentum, then he threw a forward pass and gave possession back to Mlb, then straight after the turnover he missed the tackle in the play before they scored through Vunivalu when Milford was having a nap in the in goal - all in a couple of minutes. Love to know what sort of money he is on this season. Bennett has lost the plot if he keeps him in firsts.

Toohey said Knights were hesitant to give Pangai the $600k he's asking for a few weeks ago. If they won't give him that much there's not a chance in hell they'd give it to Glasby.

If we are offering Glasby that much then Pangia is worth every bit of it and more, not in favour of paying overs but sometimes you have to if you want the right plater.

Yeh I noticed this carry, it was powder puff stuff in comparison to what TPJ was doing. He had a couple of carries just like it. Seemed like he was frightened of getting hurt. Sims will not amount to much as a player and I'm happy he's gone.

Sims is the football version of a keyboard warrior. Talks tough, but in reality is the biggest pussy going round

I was a bit harsh on Glasby. He comes here he probably earns the 13 over Barney.

There's going to be a fire sale in Canberra. Hope we are running the ruler over:
  • Soliola - leadership
  • Boyd - the big body we are missing
  • Papalii - at the right price and with a KFC ban
  • Austin - to convert to a centre - has the running game and could thrive without the playmaking pressure.

All would add something, and not sure any are going to have a huge market.

Goes against our principle of recruiting from successful clubs, however we made an exception for Lillyman so why not these guys.

Lillyman was a SOO player these guys all have potential especially Boyd for size and Austin because we are light on in backs, could cover centre and 5/8.

Only problem is Austin wants big money, turned down $700k a season last year to try and get more. No way is he worth that and we've already got a running 5/8 in Watson anyway.

Austin wants 700K plus??? These blokes are out if their minds.

I'd take Boyd but he has to lose a lot of weight and get fit. Fit enough to play close to 45 to 50 minutes with decent workload - or there is no point to buying him.

I like Mac's idea of Austin into a centre at the right price. I think he'd be great in a number of positions, even as the runnig 5/8 Brown is looking for. Interchange, ball playing backrower?? Bloke is big enough to do a few things. But he'd have to piss the chewing gum off though.

Papali at his fittest and best would be awesome. But he doesn't seem to want to to do that - for Canberra or QLD. Not sure.

As much as I would like to pick the eyes out of Canberra, I'd prefer to spend our money on proven performers rather than project players. Canberra went out and bought a tonne of guys with high ceilings, but almost none of them were proven, consistent high class players. I think they all still sit in that category to this day.

Mooney has hit on everyone bar moga who looked bad but was coming off no preseason. I'll trust whoever he brings in
A no dickhead policy would be great.

Canberra seemed to be so desperate for anyone so long as they ticked the "massive human" box. BJ being a perfect example. I reckon that bloke would be cancer to any team sport. A team made up of an equal measure of quality of character as skill is the way to go.

Yes you are right Knight Vision, Canberra recruited too many blokes of similar attitude and traits. Many of them the type you don't want long term.
