As it stands our top 4 front rowers for next year are Herman, Glasby and the Saifitis. Unfortunately it drops away pretty dramatically from there.

Ideally we get someone better than Jacob between now and then because he’s still a reserve grader imo, maybe this young guy from the Tigers will get an extra year and will force his way in but we won’t know that until he’s played a few games this year.

Obviously there’s been some speculation about some high profile front rowers but I can’t see it actually happening so I think we need to have a plan B and pick up a few bargain basement buys.

Surely there’s a few guys out there at strong clubs who are stuck behind good forward packs and want a shot elsewhere. I’m thinking guys at Penrith, Souths, Warriors etc. Those teams always seem to have young, talented forwards coming through ready to rip into first grade. Surely picking up 2 or 3 guys like that isn’t a big risk. We’ve already got the kid from the Tigers and surely the law of averages tells us that if we pick up enough players like that one or two of them should end up being decent first graders.

Assume if we sign Isaako that Sio is gone and someone out of Isaako, Lee and SKD play reserves along with Ross, overload in backs but very short in props, are we headed in right direction?

No need to panic, there is always players who come up later on in the year, brown and mooney know what they are doing, plus how is saulo coming along

Isaako has already come out and said he doesn't want to leave Brisbane and considering he's being groomed to take over the fullback role from Boyd in 2-3 years, it's a big ask to get him away.

Not happening.

It will be interesting to see if we look at Corey Oates and whether he'd be prepared to come as a wing option - seems he's indicated he wants to be a second rower going forward in his career.

I'd think he might be worth looking at as an alternative signing in the role we were looking for Ferguson to take on but I'm not sure what sort of value he would present as a 2nd rower and I know we seem to have some depth there. The other thing would be that his motor in the forwards is untested at first grade level

What do others think of him as an outside back option(at the right price) or could you see him adding value as a forward signing?
I think Oates will make a very good second rower, if given the opportunity. I think he will even play origin there. That is his natural position. I think he would be a great buy for you guys. If it didn't work out, then you could always put him back on the wing. He does see himself as a second rower playing wing.

There are none available so I don't see us getting any names. Need to be inventive, take a few punts and get the Saifitis to pull their f**king finger out. Gloves need to come off with those 2.
Klemmer said today in a Foxsports article that he would leave Canterbury, if they wanted to create some cap space. I want Saints to buy him and or Pangai Junior. I think Newy and Saints should be doing their upmost to sign either or both of them. It has also been mentioned that Taupau could leave Manly to create a some cap space for them. He is another that I would like us to sign and Newcastle could do with him too.

It's hard to know who I'd take out of Klemmer and Taupau. Taupau has the offload factor that is invaluable but Klemm is younger. Who would ya'll sign if you could only grab one?

Klemmer by a long way. More miles left in him, less mistakes, more metres per game.

Klemmer is just starting to reach his true potential and still has room to improve and he is a gun already - Marty has reached his ceiling and would be a major lift on our existing front row stocks but I would definitely take Klemmer as first choice IF we could only have one...but my preference would still be to have them both ;)

I would love Klemmer. That guy is a unit and a half. I might be a bit old school but all the skill in the world doesn't make up for brute strength and size for front row forwards. I just want four big lads charging the ball up the middle. Let us dream as one:

8. Klemmer
9. Segy
10. Tapau
11. Fitzy
12. Guerra
13. Ese'ese

14. Levi
15. Saifiti
16. Saifiti
17. Barnet

Very very improbably but never say never.

i honestly have no idea where you pull your conclusions from sometimes.

Well, not offering serious money for a seriously good player does lead one to start thinking we are in no hurry to improve our pitiful pack.

What conclusion do you draw?

I'm no longer interested in who we're interested in.

I'll believe it when they've signed on the dotted line
