As it stands our top 4 front rowers for next year are Herman, Glasby and the Saifitis. Unfortunately it drops away pretty dramatically from there.
Ideally we get someone better than Jacob between now and then because he’s still a reserve grader imo, maybe this young guy from the Tigers will get an extra year and will force his way in but we won’t know that until he’s played a few games this year.
Obviously there’s been some speculation about some high profile front rowers but I can’t see it actually happening so I think we need to have a plan B and pick up a few bargain basement buys.
Surely there’s a few guys out there at strong clubs who are stuck behind good forward packs and want a shot elsewhere. I’m thinking guys at Penrith, Souths, Warriors etc. Those teams always seem to have young, talented forwards coming through ready to rip into first grade. Surely picking up 2 or 3 guys like that isn’t a big risk. We’ve already got the kid from the Tigers and surely the law of averages tells us that if we pick up enough players like that one or two of them should end up being decent first graders.
