The nib Newcastle Knights are pleased to announce the extensions of two bright young prospects in Tex Hoy and Jirah Momoisea.

Hoy, a local junior, has extended his contract until the end of season 2021.

Able to play in the halves or at fullback, the young gun completed his first pre-season with the NRL squad this year.

According to Elite Pathways Development Coach, Scott Dureau, Hoy is showing plenty of promise.

It's a pity Levi wasn't as good as he has been this year. Real player in there but I doubt letting him go will hurt us. How's Brailey been doing this year?
last I looked he had similar stats to Levi .....it must be character and attitude that makes the difference between the two.

Shark netted
There won't be an official announcement anytime soon but take it as read Sharks hooker Jayden Brailey will be at the Knights next season. We are hearing he has agreed to a three year deal.

Apart from the fact he will need a release from the final year of his contract at Cronulla, the Knights can't publicise the deal or register it with the NRL until they can show they are under the salary cap for next season with him included in it.

The biggest Steel City contingent in the Origin arena since 2003 has Knights and NSW legend Danny Buderus tipping Newcastle to continue its revival with increasing clout in the player market.

As Nathan Brown struggled to drag the club from the mire of three consecutive wooden spoons, big money bids for the likes of Jack Bird, Matt Scott, Dale Finucane and Matt Prior were all rebuffed.

Out of that lot the only one I’d have right now at our club is Finucane. Funny how players who once thought they were too good for our club wouldn’t even get a look in now.

Don't forget Adam Blair. Dodged plenty of bullets.
We were linked to James Graham at one stage. Would have loved for him to come to the club great leader and competitor.....but then we got the player I dared not dream to get ......Klemmer. Funny how the cards fell our way in recruitment and you're right we did dodge some bullets along the way. .
