Can’t understand how Ramien went from potential star to Mr Gonski. Did we not notice his handling problems before we signed him or did we develop that after arriving.
Better keep Hunt

Sometimes you take a punt on a player and it works out (i.e. Ponga) and in some cases it doesn’t, like this time. Sometimes the player just struggles to fit in with the way the team plays.

It's a good thing the coaching staff couldn't get the best out of one of the hottest young talents in the game and are pushing him out.
Interesting take...

Gets dropped for being one of our worst performers and suddenly he's in talks with management about leaving.

I'm sure it's the coaches fault though.

Don’t see this as a coaching issue.

He gets dropped, and walks out. Complains he never gets the ball, but never sought the ball. Like, too bad buddy?

Ramien moved to us because of our proximity to his daughter. Clearly his heart and head have never actually been tied to the club, otherwise he'd have performed differently

This was more than likely always going to happen

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't think the club has got the best out of Ramien. And I don't think they should be giving up on a quality player on a cheap contract.
What price he shows his Sharks form at a new club?

Perhaps he saw Kurt Mann keep his spot after being diabolically bad the last two weeks and was unhappy with the inconsistency?

VERY happy with this decision, I've been flabbergasted all year that we were trying to give this kid an upgrade. Let him go earn it elsewhere.

We lose nothing on the field letting him go, he has provided nothing to us thus far.

We kept Gagai for 6 freakin years although he had massive deficiencies in his game.

Was never dropped but should have been.

Ramien just spitting the dummy?

What's the story?
The difference is that Gags put in the effort and was a team player. That buys you a lot of credibility off the field, being a genuine human. We only judge things off the 80 minutes we see a week.

I get the feeling one can't say the same about this situation. On the surface of it, it looks like Ramien has spat the dummy for being dropped, and we've shown him the door. Good, I'll be stuffed if we should let players walk all over the club.

Good for him if he rediscovers his Sharks form, it's a shame his head wasn't in it here if that's the case.

What lengths would you have the club go to to "find Ramiens form" that you know that they haven't already? He's been shit all year, yet has kept his spot to this point. He's been given 19 weeks to show something, and I can count his contributions on one hand. The club is, and has to be, larger than this kid.

I'm not sure what more we could've done to help Ramien find his form, he's been getting fed quite abit of good early ball in the past month and his error rate has been through the roof, he's literally put in a month worth of shit performances.
I personally think he looks like he's put on too much size, at the Sharks he had a combination of size, strength, agility and speed, this year it looks like he's tried to just turn himself into miniature Tony Williams and just tries to run over everyone

Maybe we can focus now on getting Hunt good quality ball again on Ponga’s preferred left hand side because it worked and when I spoke to Hunt at the players event he was very grateful for Ponga’s contributions.

Good riddance. Merkins with BS attitude have no place at this club. Seems like a BJ Leilua mk II kind of a character.

When/has Best turn 18? Would love for him or Toa (when he is fit) to get a run in our outside backs

Can’t say I’m disappointed. Definitely has potential but his error rate has been disgusting this year, and if he can’t take being dropped for poor performance on the chin, go elsewhere.

Yeah I was referring to our gun centre position. We all nerd a gun centre that excites and I was hoping Ramien was gonna be our star centre now our hopes lie with Moga.
I don't particularly feel we need it, and I doubt the club thinks we need more than what we have immediately either. Bradman Best and Starford Toa are coming through the grades at the moment... and it would be a waste to not give either of these prospects a go. Outside of them we have Hunt and Moga, with Sione + Mann and even Watson to plug gaps when desperate. We have enough utility and potential youth in the team to cover this loss in the short-mid term.

For the next 12-24 months I don't really expect us to sign much in terms of centres.

I'm unaware the effort has not been there from Ramien behind the scenes, training etc. Form is down no doubt.

No worse than Gagai's horrendous, insepid efforts over years at the club.

Great he is a good bloke, but he should have been dropped multiple times when he was here.

Brown may have left it a tad too late to start putting the cranky pants on.

Let's hope they pull their fingers out after today and finally get with the program because if they don't, this club is looking like a Titanesque show.
