I'm seeing others talk about Mullin with his ban ending next year. I reckon he's too old to consider. I wonder if the club might support him though given they have been totally unable to.

the feel-good story would be to bring Mullen back into Reserves and eventually coaching.

his playing days are almost certainly done, but we shouldnt just abandon him. I reckon he would have some positives to offer

I can't be the only one who hopes we get Foran on an unders deal for a year or two.

Best mates with Pearce, maybe he could teach him something.

he'd never be on the field,

Foran would be another Watson, like pissing our cap up against the wall. We just dug ourselves out of that hole.

I am mixed on this. I do feel Foran has something to offer and if on the cheap I do like the idea of it.

However, how long do you keep holding a Crossland or Hoy back and not give them a crack and let them develop?

Foran would be good value on $200K-$300K max but he already knocked back $400K from the Dogs so can’t see it happening. Personally I think he’ll go back to Manly to play under Des and alongside DCE but he’s surely lost the plot if he thinks he’s still worth good $$$ given he’s already earned about $4m over the last 3-4 years doing basically nothing. Although that being said Des was the one who gave him that ridiculous deal in the first place so I wouldn’t rule out Des throwing big money at him again.

Foran doesn’t need the money. His old boy is worth squillions and he has made back all he lost gambling plus some.

I reckon his next contract about where he wants to play, not money. So Manly might be the tip, who knows.

I thought it wasnt the 400K it was that it was for only 1 year, he wants a 3 year deal.

Watson is probably on that money next year.

Do we have the cap space to chase Matt Burton at 6? Do we need to create the space?
its been said we dont have much money left. Yet we have 3 utility players in Mann, Watson, and Hoy. We could easily make room.

Is Burton off contract ? Lam, Salmon and Cogger are off contract......whoever is 5/8 should be viewed as our next main playmaker when Pearce goes so they arent going to come cheap. .

Only way we can win the comp with Pearce is if we get a very good 6 like a Foran as it has to happen this? or next year. A inexperienced/young 6 won’t work with Pearce.
So if no Foran type player then develop a 6 & 7 for 2022, possibly buy them with Pearce like money
