Whether you like or rate these players or not, at least they bring experience and some ability over our current depth players.

Competition is always a good thing and at least we've focused on depth.

KNIGHTS DELIVER ANOTHER BLOW TO RAIDERS

Newcastle look to have scored another victory over Canberra after it emerged that Canterbury firebrand Jack Hetherington was leaning towards joining the Knights next season.

Hetherington has been given permission to leave the Bulldogs, leaving Canberra and Newcastle to jostle for his services.

The Knights already landed a blow on Canberra when they stole Adam Elliott for next season.

They look set to repeat the feat after the Raiders were told that Hetherington was likely to join Newcastle next season. Confidential understands that family reasons rather than money were a major consideration for Hetherington as he weighed up his next move.

He won’t be at the Bulldogs next season despite having a mutual option to remain at the club.

Good to know. For the right money he'll be useful.

It would be good to think we can pad the squad out with Croker level players who have quality enough so we don’t despair when injuries hit. Say for an example you have 22 players you expect to push for the 17 every week but the remaining 8 are still first graders ready to step in . That kid who played 6 for Penrith last weekend is the type of fringe quality we should aiming for.

I reckon it’s players (talent wise) 3-12 that matter the most.

then players 13-22.

then your top two.

Knights announce signings of Adam Elliott & Jack Hetherington, both on 3-year deals

Highlight video from when the Bulldogs signed Hetherington a couple of years ago. Most of his highlights with the Dogs were him being sin binned or suspended.

showed some really good ball running ability, tell him to forget the cheap stuff and just focus on running hard and fast

He looked good as a bit player for the Panthers but hasn't kicked on since moving to the Dogs. Being surrounded by a bad roster wouldn't have helped but we're closer to the Bulldogs than we are the Panthers.

Not necessarily but likely would be. The player has to agree to it as well though, can't just ship them off.

Clune, Mann, Randall, Johns, Fitzgibbon are the ones that stick out as possibilities.

Yep, but this is the level of talent that get options in their favour under the current regime. It’s worked well.😂
