Well he’s a gamble if that is to be true. We might turn into the mean merkins of the NRL and frankly I’d like that. Him hetherington and Elliott will bring some much needed attitude.

I think Joey could help Hastings out a bit.

He hasn't lasted more than 2 seasons anywhere since the Roosters banished him from training with the rest of the squad 6 years ago, even while tearing up the Super League. Now Tigers are happy to let him go after 1 season despite clearly being one of their better players.

Skillset fits what we need but the track record is concerning to say the least.

The Aussie clubs cut him. Not sure about the two UK clubs when he supposedly turned over a new leaf…leaving them has always been reported as his call after being successful.

If we did by chance sign Brooks, Hastings or both it still doesn’t address the fact KP being targeted heavily will go on. If he had a designated forward defending with him at 6 you can bet your life it will stop. He’ll get rough treatment regardless but if someone like Jack Hetherington defends beside him then others will think twice.

KP targeted heavily…

Souths have 1 bloke making a difference to them atm … every team knows who it is and can bash the crap out of him if they want to beat Souths. He loves that shit and thrives on it.

Tedesco runs for a ‘thousand’ metres each and every week, every coach, team and supporter knows it and teams can bash the shit out of him if they want to nullify him. He loves that shit and thrives on it.

Dylan Edwards plays the same style every week, racks up the metres and every team knows it. Again, teams can give it to him to take that strength away from Penrith. He loves that shit (and has played for weeks with a broken foot ffs) and thrives on it.

Their physicality is incredible. They are special players.

Hmmm.

A body guard if he moves to 6 will help him in defence but no one is going to protect him when he runs the ball. It’s rugby league.

Fullbacks get bashed more than halves.

They have high speed collisions taking kicks and collecting kicks.

he should move to 6 for longevity as well as team need.

pull him out the rest of the year and get him on the good peptides.

Yep, it takes a particular type of player to be a great fullback.

He needs to give that dream away and move to 6.

He ain’t going to like that though.

The way NQ fans are talking about Parr’s loss on socials they are not particularly happy about it. Concerns players may follow. Nothing solid other than speculation by them though. Hard to blame them. Zammit and Ponga both left.

Also Brooks injured and just a vague bit at the end about him being linked to us and that it could be his last game as a Tiger.

IF Brooks comes here I really hope the Tigers are paying half his contract and it is only a 1-year deal.

If we sign him to something any longer after how he’s performed then we are idiots.

I'm not happy with any of the realistic options, but sticking with who we have already signed for 2023 is preferable to offering Luke Brooks any sort of long term deal.
I wouldn’t be in favour of a long term deal but I wouldn’t be against getting him for a year or two if the price was right and seeing what we can do from there. He’s got a higher ceiling than Crossland/Clune/Clifford and given how bad those guys have been at times this year I don’t think Brooks could be worse. If there were better options on the market then I would be against the Brooks idea but halves come at a premium right now so I’d rather take a punt on a guy who clearly needs a change of scenery and does have the upside rather than the no-bodies we currently have pulling the strings.
