It was originally slated to be done first.

it is shit for rectangular sports and is in a great location, close to the demographic centre of Sydney.

Why was the plan changed?
The location is terrible mate, being in the geographical centre of the city doesnt make it great

Tell me any other city in the country that has their major sporting fields more than 3-5kms from the CBD.

The plan was changed based on $$, not to give the Roosters a leg up FFS

The CBD of Sydney is shifting away from the city. The money is all Parra out to the West now. It is a token CBD. The inner city is nothing like it was pre COVID.

thats something you'll have to take up with the NSW government, not an NRL decision. The government decided they weren't going to rebuild Accor, so the funds were re-allocated to build a new SFS and the regional grounds would get upgrades. Grounds like Manly, Leichardt etc. Government then backflipped on that. Hence why the Grand Final nearly went to QLD this year and they are now talking about doing the NFL style Super Bowl and moving it around every year to the highest bidder. It's VLandy's trying to make the government honour their agreement

On the old SFS, it apparently had concrete cancer issues and there were other issues as well. It would have been unsafe to use in less then 10 years, so it had to be knocked down.

new SFS could have been a basic build. Could have used our stadium as a template. Why did the Roosters need an 800m plus build?

it was a gift to the SCG trust. Period.

mate i got to disagree with you on this. The stadium is not just for the Roosters. Its a multi used stadium where Sydney FC, the Waratahs and the Roosters will play out of the stadium. It will also be used for concerts etc

Basically it is a new stadium that needed to be built. Everyone that hates on it are doing so because its the Roosters that benefit from it in the NRL.

You can hate on the Roosters for their salary cap sombrero, but not because they got a new state of the art stadium. Don't forget Parramatta got a new stadium only a couple of years ago, not sure of the costs involved though, so if that is your issue with the new stadium then i'm not sure how much stadiums should cost and $800m seems high, but everything government built is always more expensive then it should be.

In saying this, i still believe other clubs need new stadiums eg Manly and Leichardt. Cronulla needs a new stadium as well, but the difference with them is they are the only club that owns their ground, so the government wont help them i wouldn't think

KNIGHTS HALVES ON THE OUTER

Something is going on at Newcastle regarding their halves.

Still looking for a replacement for Mitchell Pearce, whose move to France this year left a gaping hole in their playmaking, the club has offered both their current halves, Jake Clifford and Adam Clune, to English clubs.

It can mean only one thing - they have a halfback either signed or in mind for 2023.

Could it be a last desperate play to snare Luke Brooks from the Tigers?

The Tigers aren't budging on Brooks at the moment, but if the Knights throw in some cash to sweeten the deal, that may change.

The Knights have signed Tyson Gamble from Brisbane, but he is not a realistic 26-game-a-season NRL playmaker… more of a handy back-up.

Don't they know about The Savior Crossland? We are clearly expecting Crossland to make the leap to Joey status.

All jokes aside, we look screwed.

I wonder if this is for a swap for the young guys we have signed from there.

Better to move them on then hold onto dead weight. Parr actually doing what he was paid to do. Nice.

Wonder if AOB will learn from this year? Or will he repeat this year's mistake by letting our halves go and not truly replacing them.

So as we stand right now, our depth chart of halves is:

1. Kurt Mann - don't pretend this isn't the case
2. Tyson Gamble
3. Phoenix Crossland

Both are under contract so we can't just ship them off somewhere, they have to agree to the move too. Clune's next contract will probably be in England but he has already reportedly turned down a move to Warrington. He may just be happy finishing his contract here before making that move. Given the current halves options he'll probably end up playing a good chunk of first grade even if not first choice.

If the Clifford family have struggled with homesickness as has been talked about then I'm not sure a move across the globe would be that appealing either.

So Klemmer basically saying he’s willing to take a pay cut to stay?

Looking forward to the club letting him go and giving Crossland, Johns and Fitzgibbon upgraded details.

With November 1 approaching you’d think a few clubs would be talking to Klem. His work rate you cannot just replicate. That is internal fire.
