I'd take Lodge on the cheap if it was part of a grand plan to move DSaf on and find an appropriate value replacement.

It would be an interesting feeling booing one of our players when he got the ball.

If DSaf stays because he doesn't get paid what he wants by another club, I bet he plays only half the matches and is injured the rest and when he plays, he will play like ass. I hope we keep him in reserve grade if he doesnt aim up every minute of every week.

Would set a terrible precedent if he gets to coast along getting paid 800k to do crap all.

Speaking about his future last week Saifiti was adamant he would not take a pay cut to leave for another team and his preference is to remain at the Knights.

“If the club think I am taking a pay cut to go somewhere else, it’s not happening,” Saifiti told AAP.

“At the end of the day, the ball is in my court, and I can do what I want.”

How good is the last sentence. All you’ve been doing for the past 2 years is thieving a wage.

Is he with Moses? Roosters previously signed him, and I thought uncle nick didn’t deal with any of Moses’ stable.

And I wonder what the reason was behind the Dolphins not signing him last year when O’Sullivan was at the club.
Nicks problems with Moses started with the whole Sualii saga, which was well after Lodge signed with them from memory

How would he be taking a pay cut, contract is what he will at least be paid, if he goes to another club Knights will pay balance of what the offer so no pay cut.
Knights could offer extra to cover costs and inconvenience so he will actually be paid full contract price or more.
My guess not going anywhere so we don’t need or want Lodge

Just on thr DSaf thing. It's clear now he doesn't care about winning and just thinks of the money. I bet after his current contract runs out he won't even get half of what he is on now with that attitude.

The club has taken such good care of him and his brother till now. Why not take a little paycut and go prove yourself? He is comfortable and lazy. Better get rid of him before his laziness rubs off on our younger players.

Toohey’s News was published early for some reason

- Mat Croker and Brodie Jones may both be squeezed out as O’Sullivan attempts to rebalance the squad. He says we’ve got too many middles and need some more outside backs.

- O’Sulivan says as of now they’re not close to doing a deal with any team re: Daniel Saifiti.

- Knights are “closing in” on the signature of a highly regarded 19-year old Super Rugby winger but no name is given. Expecting a final answer in the next week.

- Once again says that Tyrone Thompson will be here on a development deal.

- Apparently no truth in the rumours of Elliott being pushed out, and he says he hopes to extend beyond next year as well.

Can’t find an off-contract list for Super Rugby, and I assume there’d be plenty of 19-year old wingers so it would still be a guess anyway. Can’t see any on the Chiefs (Tyrone’s team) so doesn’t look like it’s a teammate following him.

Jones had a pretty good run here but if he is on anything more than minimum wage then it's better he leaves.

Croker seems like he has so much more in his locker but doesn't get a chance to use it. Can see him going to the Storm or Penrith on minimum wage and becoming a solid top 17 player.

Can't believe we are going to be stuck with DSaf...

Brodie is an honest bottom half of the 30 squad player. If you are starting him every week you probably aren't doing much, but you can trust him to play 15-20 games a year and do a job.

Crokes should be being groomed to take over the 13 jersey, but he needs to work on both work rate and impact. Skill is there, but maybe not the attention span and aggro. Still drifts in and out of games.

We are really screwed cap and squad wise if they are the guys we are moving on.

I don’t care that much about losing Jones, he works hard and is a likeable clubman but there’s plenty of those out there. Croker I feel has potential to be a good and regular first grader but never gets the minutes to prove it. I’d like to see him stay, seems a bit weird that we’re moving him on tbh.

Can't shift the ones we want to movie on, likely even if we pay some freight. That should tell the players all they need to know about their performances for us. Other clubs don't even want it at a discount.

Losing Jones and Croker is about balancing out the squad, not saving salary cap.
And 0% chance of DSaf being here in 2025- his form has been good the back half of this year and there will absolutely be a club after a prop of his quality. It’s just a matter of how much the club need to chip in for the remaining two years of his contract.

Yeah I reckon there will be a fair bit of movement come Nov 1 and Dsaf will get a deal done

Shame to be moving on Crokes. He seems to be the type you want to keep even if there is an over abundance of middles

We just signed that centre/winger from Canberra so it's weird we are considered short in the outside backs.

Next year they've only only got Marz, Best, Gags, Sharpe, Schiller.

I won't count Jenkins (if he's still here) as he has basically been deemed unplayable by the coach.

Need two or three more.

I'm happy to deem Jenkins unplayable too. From reports a week or two ago, Jenkins himself deems Jenkins unplayable.

We do have some developing players such as McCarthy to play centre but with Gags likely to finish up end 2025 McCarthy and others may not be ready
