Well over only four games it could be argued. But over an entire season if he's still got zero LBAs I'll be very concerned if we haven't bought another half for 2018, regardless of how many linebreaks Gutherson makes.

Warriors officials are set to meet with Shaun Johnson’s manager Peter Brown on Friday to discuss the playmaker’s playing future.

The Kiwi international is off contract at the end of the season and had preliminary talks with the club late last year after the Four Nations tournament in England.

I wouldn't go near Johnson for the money he is probably after... Even at a reduced pricetag, I don't think he's the type of half we need. Prone to trying the impossible play and falling short. We already have a half who can pull out the magic plays and for the most part does it more consistently than Johnson anyway. Being realistic if I was looking for any half to partner Norman right now, off contract or not, I'd probably go for someone like a Widdop, Pearce or Townsend. Guys who aren't going to overplay their hand. Guys who can take control on the last tackle, keep a calm head and execute... At the moment, on those occurrences when Norman gets caught playing the ball on the 5th, there's a "Oh f**k, who's going to kick here and where the f**k is it going to end up?" feeling that overwhelms me....

We need two guys who are either origin forwards -international or at the very least knocking on the door and having name mentioned.

Id say all our forwards are first grade players. And most are of a similar level to each other. We need to cut a few of those and replace with star forwards.

My comment was more that if Johnson came here it will end in tears, just as Sandclown did.

It wasn't really a comment on the players overall ability.

Parra need to sign specific types of players and Shaun Johnson is not one of them.

That'll be why they kept the Brumbies. Was deadset mind boggling they were even considering dropping the one team that actually competes in it's market (as small as that market is).

Not really. Especially as we've had an awful lot of Kiwi forwards

Granted, we have had some pathetic forwards. But we've also got better forwards than plenty who have played origin.

There are plenty of forwards in the game who could do a job at origin level but never get a chance.

Our forwards are absolutely fine ffs. You don't need "star" forwards. We've built a pack that's capable of winning s comp by having a bunch of players one tier below "star" level. Guys like Tamou and Woods are too expensive for what they offer over a Mannah type player. Better off having three Mannah/Brown types than one Woods and two Rory O'Brien's
