Rumours and Stuff

We've done that though? The signings of Lomax, JAC, Williams, Walker, De Belin show that. While the signings of Da Silva, Papalii, Iongi, Kautoga show we're willing to get guys on the fringe and build them up. And the promotions of Penisini, Talataina, Funa-Iuta, and Talagi show we're also willing to give the young guys a genuine opportunity against opposition that is challenging them.

Plus I think you'll find every fan base wants their players to have a big year or young guys to debut, it isn't exclusively an Eels fan response.
The issue is the inability to sign anyone that is elite and available when there aren’t extenuating circumstances and no competition in essence

Lomax - wanted out and secured by BA
Williams - benchie at the Sharks
Walker - asked for a release to return to a Sydney for family
JAC - fairly obvious he was in trouble
DeBelin - wasn’t wanted originally by Dragons, older and short term

Seems a conundrum that we seem to have exhausted our cap for 2026 despite all the moving parts.

Kautoga should be better, has not done a preseason due to injury for 2 seasons

I reckon Fitzy should get Rent Free tattooed to that pig headed of a forehead he has.

Because thats what Rugby League is to an elitist pissant in Fitzy

I honestly hope that wanker gets absolutely slammed with stats as to where Rugby currently sits in Australia regarding its popularity.
I hope someone reminds him that the Matilda's are way ahead of the Wallabies.

I think a lot of the reasons why Penisini keeps getting in First Grade is due o his leadership potential.

He makes dumb mistakes every game, and it is frustrating.

But even Jason Ryles made some comments about Will's leadership qualities.

I'd like to see him work on his catching, though.
He hasn't played reserve grade since 2021, under three different coaches.

I have. Typical of many union converts. Scared of impact. Doesnt chase collisions thats for sure.

you say you cant write him off after one game. After watching that one game, Im pretty sure there is a very solid reason that they waited the entire year before giving him a run. Wouldnt be surprised if it was in his Contract he'd get a game.
I hope no merkin had him in their fantasy team:

Well Tracey isn't first grade standard no other club would be playing him at fullback.
Then their is Temu Lane nothing screams rep player made easy busts against Penrith worst defenders on the weekend and that's about it probably could call him Hindy Jnr with his flops as well...

Don't hate the dogs just don't like Gus
Wait are you saying preston is temu lane? Surely not preston looks a very very good player. Looks equal to or if not better than 2022 lane (who i loved) and Preston's only 23. Would love to steal him from the bulldogs tbh

I note that Gus Gould excused the Bulldog's shithouse performance in the finals on the fact that they had a soft draw for the first half of the season and were overrated by the media.

I also note the irony of him lambasting the media for at the same time questioning him for his mid-season execution of all that impetus on the basis that the media know nothing, the same media who are now pointing out that Glavin was never a 7, something Gus shoe-horned him into, while eventually moving Burton back to centre.

May I take this opportune moment to also note that I pointed out the fact of the overrated Bulldogs season in excel table format at the very same time they bought Galvin and predicted this exact slide?

I at the same time said to Stevie that we too, the Eels can replicate this Bulldogs season if we 1) beat all the bottom 4 teams from 2025 in 2026 and 2) the draw allows us to play them twice. 3) At the same time we get our byes during origin, and 4) to go one better than the Bulldogs, don't have a self-sabotaging merkin as general manager of football.

Yeah, i think with a strikes like JACS and Lomax, you need good defensive centres who know how to draw and pass and use their wingers.

I think it was Hindy111 who said, if you have strike wingers and damaging 2nd rowers then a good defensive centre is what you need. And we kinda have that.

Reminds me of Ben Smith and Joel Reddy. Weren't physical talented damaging attackers, but knew how to use their outside man (grothe). especially Benny boy
Both decent attackers

How good would it have been to see Fui Fui run at Fitzsimons?

Fitzy and his succubus are emblematic of the parasitical Labor class elite who've made a fortune selling the rest of us out.

The finals so far is a tale of two Parra lost juniors: one who turned up and one who wasn't allowed.

If Ethan Sanders was allowed more than 18th man and replaced Ethan Strange in the Raiders line up I reckon they win. He's a deadset champion who we lost due to the Arthurs incumbency.

The other, Talagi, is a work in progress who jammed in on Burton making him knock on, his defense suspect, he's grown better by increments under Ivan Cleary his attack never in doubt.

I’ve heard Sanders has underwhelmed the Raiders staff since his arrival. They aren’t writing him off but think he’s still got a bit to go to get to an NRL level half

It’s why they’ve made enquiries to get Pezet on loan. Big worry considering Pezet is only 12 months older.
