If Ethan Sanders was allowed more than 18th man and replaced Ethan Strange in the Raiders line up I reckon they win. He's a deadset champion who we lost due to the Arthurs incumbency.

Sanders makes no difference to that result. Currently at best he’s a solid cup player.

To be honest, this isn't a plan to develop a team upon. If we're going to throw all our hopes on Moses staying fit them we won't be ascending the ladder next year and beyond. I said it before. Penrith have consistently found ways to adapt when Cleary has been out injured. If we can't measure up when things go south because our 'best player' goes down then we're kidding ourselves.

He's not just our best player, though - he's arguably one of the best halfbacks in the entire sport.

I see what you're saying, but I think it downplays the importance of Moses to the team.

The club does have some bright prospects in our lower grades in the halves, in Fletcher, and Talataina.

The gist of my original post was that, had we had more luck with injuries in 2025, we likely would have played in the Finals.

2nd row is biggest weakness

Is it? What we have in our squad we have might not be super stars (yet) but are more than adequate imo. Kautoga, Tuilagi (another preseason to improve his defence), Williams, Samrani, Guymer, Funa-Iuta , Latu (both yet to debut) and others now playing reserve grade is a big pool to choose from. I'm confident Ryles & staff will improve these players.

Imo our middle stocks need improving and again Ryles has a large group to choose from. We have Junior, JDB, Moretti, Tuivaiti, Doorey, Hopgood, Matterson, Walker & the overweight bloke from W-T who may come good amongst others but we definitely need to buy a good player to improve our squad.

Other areas that need backups in are wing & centre and hopefully we'll see what transpires as the preseason progresses.

I think we have 3 spots available for next year and imo 1 middle and 2 outside backs would be my priorities.

I think it’s fair to talk about Eels greats like Brad Arthur. Our longest serving coach who guided us to 137 wins. He’s one of a handful of Eels coaches in history with a positive record.

13 coaches out of the 34 have a positive win percentage that's all coaches that have coached at least 1 game for the Eels.

De Belin - unlikely, certainly not on starters money
Simonsson - going to need a relationship fix otherwise gone
Doorey - maybe, wouldn’t chase to hard but
Guymer - strong early decision, one way or other
Matterson - I reckon he is at best, cut at some point next year
Hawkins - will depend on dollars, he’s a great Moses injury back up but that’s all he’s worth to us
Volkman - showed decent Cup form but unless he breaks out next year, he’s probably going to be closer to 30th on the list at best
JAC - problem… we likely have him currently on unders… of course it’s yes but it has potential ramifications
Walker - yep he’s revolutionised our attack
Hands - I wouldn’t say no but he’s low priority
