So will we take Lichaa if he is offered to us? Very good defender but Des is inhibiting his attacking ability.
I'd take Peats first, but if we can't get Peats then Lichaa would be ok, he was rated very highly in the 20's played a few good games at the sharks but is not suited to the Dogs style.
Has potential if he is allowed to play his normal game.

Comes down to value, guessing approx $300k licha or $600k Peats ( what their managers may be asking).

Moses for this year would be good news.
It's going to be very interesting to see how this plays out.... Tigers are on 2 wins for the season, same as us, Finals footy is still a chance.... Even if Moses has agreed to terms with us for 2018, surely Cleary has an obligation to pick the players he thinks represent the the Tigers best chance of playing finals footy - releasing Moses to us early would be a step in the opposite direction. Unless the relationship between player and coach has become toxic, I don't know why he would be released early. Will they release Tedesco or Woods early if they sign elsewhere?? Highly doubt it....

Lichaa would be an improvement on what we have. Then again BA might wish to spend his cash elsewhere. I am sure Kaysa will improve. Perhaps he needs to have a head bin rest once a game.

I think the only reason the Tigers would release Moses early would be to create cap space to front load other extensions.

The fact the tigers pulled their offer once Cleary became coach tells me he is not in their plans going forward and they are not much chance of a premiership this year so why not start the forward planning?

Or to make a new signing and pay a signing bonus
Or to give them some cap breathing room for this season so they can debut a 20s guy
Or to give them space to be a player in the mid season swapsies game
Or because Moses just doesn't want to be there and his agent manages 3 other guys who do want to be there, and letting 1 out early might give them a discount on the other 3
Or ...

Might be more than 'the only reason' you mentioned.....

No I reckon those reasons aren't enough. He is their best (currently only) halfback. If they're going to put a line through 2017 they will want significant benefits for 2018-202x

I get the feeling that Moses may have an additional 500,000 reasons to switch to the eels straight away and the tigers would need to upgrade his contract for 2017 for him not to lose out over the next 2 1/2 years

I'm sure we are throwing a big wad of cash at him to come this year. That will help keep his price down for 2018+

But if the Tigers don't release him that surely makes our offer from 2018 less attractive.

I've gotten that suspicion too. Why else would have he jumped all over the immediate release?

Eh, I am reasonably confident that Moses is on a relatively club-friendly deal relative to the player market (Hunt on $1,000,000+, Josh Reynolds asking for $800,000). That isn't to say he is taking huge unders to come play for us but we certainly didn't outbid the Tigers for his services. In fact I think you will find the Tigers didn't offer anywhere near $1,000,000 a year like the media would lead you to believe.

700k for moses is what he is worth.
Aslong as broncos stay away. Once Dargan comes on we will have a 22yld and 25yld who will terrorise opponents.
Bring on 2020.
