If I was Farah my only response to anyone would be -

"If the coaching staff believe that it's appropriate for a player to take up $950k of the salary cap and playing reserve grade for the remainder of this season and for the entire next season then that is up to them. I can only do my best at training and on the field, but either way I will be receiving $950k next season."

Can't figure out why Taylor would name him in the 17 on Tuesday arvo, only to tell him Wednesday that he'll be playing reserve grade.... poor management when you consider the Tigers didn't play last weekend. He's had Farah training with the NRL squad all week and then 4 days before the game he attracts media spotlight on the group by doing this. You can't tell me this hasn't been Taylor's plan for at least the last 2-3 weeks, he didn't just decide to make the call yesterday. I'm no great Farah fan but this seems to have been poorly handled
I think JT might still have a soft spot for the Eels and is just taking a few shots every now and then to take the spotlight off us for a little bit.

Apparently the Origin players weren't required to be at training until yesterday, the day after team's have to be announced, which is still farcical that a team that won't play until Monday and might have even played the night before has to announce their team list on a Tuesday!

So now their price tag should guarantee them a spot? That's the entire problem, his price tag.

You see people whinge all the time that a coach won't drop a star player out of form cause they don't have the balls due to the salary cap figure and then a coach does it and because it's cool to hate said coach, we'll criticise the f**k out of him!

It's a funny world we live in.

Cant help but think BTW that we haven't released Foran. When we haven't released him yet means we are still paying his massive salary. Does anyone else think we haven't done this because we are a bit worried we may lose Norman despite being told he'll stay?

I think it may be more to do with Hayne. We would give Foran an unconditional release if we secured Hayne. However if Hayne goes to Union we should only give Foran a conditional release. Only plays for us in 2017.

Assuming Hayne goes to Union. Foran is released and Norman stays I would enquire about Adam Reynolds. Good goalkicker and a good halfback to partner Norman. The rumours about him not being happy at Souths are not going away.

More News Ltd drivel today saying Des and the Dogs aren't interested in Foran, and that with Blake Green all but signed sealed and delivered to Manly, Foran won't be required there either... Lord knows how this is all going to play out...

He's dropped him and wants him out of the club purely and simply because he wants to spend his $950k salary on other players. Which is fair enough, but that's not Robbie Farah's problem.

I will guarantee you now that if Jason Taylor had the choice to remove Robbie Farah from the Tigers, but still have to pay Robbie Farah $950,000 under the salary cap next season, he would say no, because that doesn't solve his problem of wanting to use at least some of Robbie Farah's $950k.

Robbie isn't the problem for Jason Taylor, it's Robbie's $950k salary that's the problem.

Of course he wants to spend the 950k on other players, players that want to play to the coaches instructions.......If there was no salary cap then I bet he'd pay for him to f**k off but it's not like he has that luxury is it?

He needs to fit a squad in under the cap that can be competitive, 950k short will hamper that won't it?

I reckon it's because if you've got a mental illness and a couple of kids you're not going to throw away several million dollars.

He asked for it but we haven't granted it. He is therefore still a contracted player and we would be paying him accordingly. If and when a release is granted, that's when the contract is terminated and we cease paying him.

Correct, his management actually asked for a release last week. As we have not released him we are still paying his monthly salary..
If Norman went elsewhere (which I don't think he would) and we didn't get Hayne we would really be up the creek.
Avenger I reckon Reynolds would be an absolutely great buy for the Eels.
My only concern about all this is we really have no management working behind the scenes playing out each scenario to make sure we field a top side next year. Its very frustrating.

Well he knows that he needs some of his money, he won't get all $950, but he'd take half. He isn't going to get half unless he encourages Farah to look elsewhere

Ummm, i think you would find that Peter Sharp is looking after recruitment discussions at the moment.
