Neither is Kayser'sHis defence is not up to the rigours of starting hooker in an NRL side.
You wouldn't think so if you're in desperate need. As we are.Damn shame about peats. Wish the club would just meet his demands. Is 600k really that much for a player of his caliber?

I wouldn't put either of them as 80 min hookers. They can share the load.I agree, absolutely. But why replace one too small hooker whose defence isn't up to NRL standard with another?
No doubt Watson is a much better attacking player, but putting him at hooker will blunt his attack because he needs to make so many more tackles (he averages about 10 tackles a game) and it won't help our defence in any way

He goes Ok, Jake. Roosters need to shed him. They are way over the cap with Tedesco.
17 games a year Peats (now dropping to 15 for Origin) is worth a fair bit less than the imagined 20+ games player with the same ability as Nathan Peats.Damn shame about peats. Wish the club would just meet his demands. Is 600k really that much for a player of his caliber?
Unfortunately both Mannah and Alvaro played in the Roosters massacre and Raiders game. Did we win, no!I'm not saying that we don't need a big body or two. I'm saying that people who want an entire pack of Junior Paulo will be the first to bitch about our defence being abysmal, and that our pack is far from being as bad as you and others seem to believe.
Big bodies need to be covered in defence. You need blokes to do that. You need balance. People fail to see that guys like Mannah and Alvaro are just as important as the big bodies.
Alvaro made 40 tackles in that game coming off the bench, and did a stitch up job on Paulo and Boyd against the RaidersUnfortunately both Mannah and Alvaro played in the Roosters massacre and Raiders game. Did we win, no!
And that's the problem, we didn't win and won't with players like these in our team, both average backup players for most other teams.

Fifita was a very good player as a youngster and was surprised when Tigers let him go. I hoped we would get him but as usual either didn't identify him (I certainly did) or didn't pay enough. I mean he went to Sharks who were a basket case at the time but not sure what we were like at the time.He has turned into an elite prop but Baz asked when they were at their peak. I'd say he wasn't quite at his peak when he was pinched.
He's been a great get though don't get me wrong.
And Barrett with all the forwards he bought this year. Bought a whole bunch and hoped for the best and actually jagged a few good ones. Still we sit back and appear to do almost nothing.BTW I think our best option is to buy a young and up and coming Gorilla or two and hope for the best. Kind of like Sticky did with Junior.
Arthur's got most of the squad he wants now, so he can be picky about whom else to bring in. At the time he signed Watmough and Foran he was still building the core of his side.Ba has in the past paid big money for leadership (choc and Foran). It's surprising he's not budging on peats asking price, considering it's a position we aren't strong in.
