There are at least 3 clubs in real cap strife at the moment I know of 2 ... we would be better off sitting back seeing what happens between now and possibly Christmas because there could be some real talent that could become available at short notice

I reckon Panthers will offload Hiku but we do not need.

One club will definitely be the Dogs IMO. They've signed two big money players plus re-signed Hoppa for some reason, but it seems the players they wanted to shift have dug their heels in.

Not so sure the Titans will be one. They've got big money Hayne but they have a solid amount of cap off contract with Peats, Paasi, Roberts, and Zillman who has been on a stupid deal for ages.

My guess would be the Dragons and Penrith

I certainly not referring to our joint but we will need to be cautious with blokes like guth and brownie who aren't on that much st the moment

So 14 points plus the 2 byes to come means we need to win 5 from 11 to get to 28 points. Our for and against is poor so 30 points might be what we need to make the 8. 6 from 11 to play finals footy. With injured players to come back, I think we're in decent shape.

Why would any team be in 'actual' cap strife when no one knows what the cap will be?

I'd expect the 2018 salary cap to be well North where the NRL have indicated so far.

We were the team with the 8 most wins last year and that was 13. I think with one team being very poor in Newcastle and hardly winning a game last year and this year, it probably just means you need to win one more than the standard 28 points
