His promotion was definitely that reason Poo however he has surprised many with his skill and all round game. Probably even BA. That said, BA would have promoted him last season if not for cap issues and he also re signed him so he obviously see something in CK.
I don't think he's surprised anyone. We knew he had strengths because he's been talked up in the past plus debuted pretty young. Those strengths have turned out to be his skill and size (for his position). But because it's taken him so long to get a run I was looking for his weaknesses and I found them - his work rate is sub par and he doesn't appear to have much speed. Still, he's doing the job and we're winning.

If you could combine him and Kaysa you'd have a hell of a player.

It depends why the hooker is in the team. It's significant that EVERY HOOKER IN THE NRL besides the four mentioned makes the baseline 0.5 tackles per minute. Some, like Friend and Kritchard, make a lot more than that.

It's not that King isn't 'making too many tackles' - he isn't making enough
I don't think you've successfully explained the significance of what appears to be a fiddly and unimportant stat (in relation to performance/games won)?

And you've also made a big judgement call on how much of that stat is "enough". Someone's gotta be at the bottom of the curve of any stat distribution, it doesn't mean their figure is necessarily not enough...

But this is elite level sport, where the whole bell curve isn't represented. The 'bottom of the curve' are playing park footy for free.

You could find it yourself and disprove my argument. I told you the stats show a correlation. But if you're too useless to find them here they are:

1. Storm 48%
2. Roosters 50%
3. Sharks 52%
4, Broncos 52%
5. Cowboys 54%
6. Eels 50%
7. Sea Eagles 50%
8. Dragons 51%
9. Panthers 51%
10. Raiders 49%
11. Warriors 50%
12. Titans 50%
13. Bulldogs 50%
14. Rabbitohs 49%
15. Tigers 49%
16. Knights 46%

Though I suspect you won't be able to make heads or tails of the correlation. I dare say you will accept nothing less than every team with 51% possession sitting higher on the ladder than those with 50% possession, who are above the ones with 49% and so on.

Because you're a f**king twit.

But what does it all MEAN?!?

Lol.

How about the bottom of the curve in the elite sport you are talking about, then?

You still haven't made a case for why the stat you're obsessing about is significant in any way, or why (in your opinion) those bottom four ranked hookers aren't doing "enough" of it.

That's my point mate. When you have ability barriers to entry, the middle of the curve ends up on the cut off line. My argument is that one of these cut offs is defensive work rate, and for NRL hookers it appears to be around the 0.5 tackles per minute mark.
You still haven't made a case
Yes I have. If you don't agree with it that's your business. It's not going to get any more convincing. You'd best establish your own theory on why King has played so much reserve grade. But plenty of players have suffered injury setbacks and still spent most of their playing time in the NRL.

Big clean out happening at the Dogs. I suppose it's already started but I hear many on contract are going to be told that they can look elsewhere including the Morris brothers.

Maybe it's because he had a shit win/loss record before BA picked him for Parra debut 4 weeks ago?

Interesting....

Had to happen as they keep re-signing blokes despite reported issues with their cap for next season after signing Woods and Foran. They certainly need a clean out. Surprised the Morris boys are being pushed out now however Brett has been injured more often than not.

Will be interested to see who they shop about. Tolman wouldn't be a bad pick up. Personally I think Graham ends up at Newcastle.
