Less than one day's notice is pretty rough, but if it's a redundancy hopefully they received a satsifactory payout under their conditions of employment to get them by over the next few months.

Its quite simple. If we sign Hayne then he goes to fullback. Its not just about the attack but also the defense of the guy. He saves atleast one or two tries a game.
You then have half with Norman who is less dominant. You would have enough fire power with semi-Jennings-Bevan-Norman-Hayne to get points. Gutherson would be a good fit but so would any average half who can tackle and kick from time to time.
If you do not get Hayne Gutherson gets the fullback role and you chase a dominant half or atleast a decent one. Bevan stays on the wing next year for mine. Gutherson would be a lot better under high ball and in the defense. No need to rush Bevan just yet.
