A spine of holmes, moylan, townsend and brailey? The sharks will struggle to make the 8 next year if they go with that.

But moylan will fit the sharks culture under flanagan and gallen with their mantra "it's everyone else's fault"

I don't know, Townsend's a known quantity, but Moylan, Holmes and Brailey all have upside potential.

I don't know if they'll work as a spine. moylan and holmes are overrated for mine. Whilst Brailey is young and is looking like he'll be a very good player is probably just a bit too young atm to have the rest of the spine being inexperienced in their respective positions.

Agree Moylan hasnt proven himself in halves.
I doubt they make 8 anyhow

Agree. Holmes is just fast and runs hard. I haven't seen a heap of skill or wow factor. But same goes for Jack Bird.

So I asked a pretty good contact about Hayne and he didn't know yet but he did say that Taka moving to the back row off the bench is happening.

It was tongue in cheek Josh but the impact comment wasn't it was more about Pou's leadership and experience comment, but for mine Fritchard would be a waste of money.
Leadership and experience alone don’t mean a player is worth big money, they are just factors that increase his value (and therefore his price).

Yes. Exactly what clubs needs and will get cheap.
Its a win win situation.
Only if he is T-Rex again and not she-Rex as he has been last few years. Not sure what happened to him. Started out a beast and ended up passing the ball whenever he looked like being tackled or had to run into somebody. If BA can get him to return to his beastly ways, in the front row, he'll be good as has beautiful ball skills.

BA will sort him out.

Smart move - Taka's speed and lateral movement isn't what it once was, but he still has plenty to offer imo.

Yep plenty to offer in a utility role. He might not get used every week, but him and Will Smith will plug lots of holes when the injuries hit.

I still remember reading an interview, probably almost a decade ago, where T-rex said he got so big by eating triple Mcchicken burgers (triple cheese with triple patties). An alpha male if there ever was one and an inspiration to children everywhere.

*Takes a sip*
Cheers

The T-Rex has normally been an edge player / centre.

Obviously he needs a massive lift in form to even get close to be considered for an NRL start.

However does anyone think he has the capacity to play in the middle (based on his best form/skill set) instead of the edge?

Someone his size / attack would be a nice addition to our middle.

At the very least that means is French is starting fullback and they plan to use Gutho in the centres.

I can't see Taka playing at full strength

Personally I think his defence in the middle would be ordinary. He's a reasonably poor defender in general but middle defenders need a better work ethic than he's ever had.

He would have to play short stints, make a bunch of carries and then have a sit down. Much like Vave.
