Obviously you can't comprehend to well since that is exactly what I have been saying for years. I have just had a gut full of it and yes I am angry about it. But to suggest that I don't understand the issues, is you just being a dumbarse bully. I just like to whinge about the issues as much as I like. I point them out constantly. Just because you don't like it isn't my problem.

Freedom of speech and all of that BULLY.

Lol. "ANYONE WHO ARGUES WITH ME IS A BULLY, WAAAAAAAH!"

Are you serious? You have literally just said that our off field issues are just excuses. Literally two posts ago. And you reckon I can't comprehend "to" well?

Which is it? Are our off field dramas a relevant part of the reason we are where we are? Or are they "just an excuse"? Because if it's the latter, then no you don't understand the issues, you simply know that they exist and have no comprehension of how they actually affect the club.

Ivan Cleary's coaching record to date - 132 wins, 3 draws & 142 losses
Brad Arthur's record to date - 54 wins & 59 losses (this also includes a 2 from 6 record when he was our interim coach in 2012)
Anyone want to hazard a guess what the percentage difference is? Spoiler it's like 0.3% to Cleary. And that includes a period way back when (before BA got a top gig) of Cleary having a 2 win above 50% record with Warriors, granted they also made 4/5 finals and 1 GF but that's tampered somewhat by he's quite underwhelming record with the supposedly brilliantly junior stacked Penriff.
But yeah Cleary is the better coach apparently... Heck if we comparing BA to what coaches did in bygone eras, let's just bring back Brian Smith or Jack Gibson

Thought so and he has been shit.

He has. Which is unfortunate because last year he was an important piece of the pack, along with Matagi.

Between them they made 100m or more 20 times last season. We've missed the shit out of that this year, Matagi has been awful and Vave hasn't even been that good in ISP

I could go with that. I thought Ma'u was good when he played time in the middle.

I was more asking hindy for a solution. I'm so sick of posts around here that say "we MUST do this" but offer nothing further.

TBH I'm not sure Niukore is good enough to warrant the massive push for his selection right now. But if I had to fit him in I'd probably start Gower in the 13, drop Penishands and bring Niukore in on the bench. Shift Ma'u when he comes on, like we did a few weeks back. I liked Tep solely on the edge this week.

Once Brown comes back, though, I genuinely don't see a spot for Marata unless he outperforms Edwards.

Drop Matagi, start Gower, have Niukore come off the bench. Matagi has been woeful outside of 2 games against manly and a few kick-off runs here and there.

Yeah that rumour awhile back about some club chasing Matagi (why the f**k does that even make the paper), I wouldn't be to worried if they took him off our hands for the rest of the season.

Except of course if he played against us he'd be a certainty for MOM

Our off field issues, were a major concern, for decades. But since the collapse of the last regime and the appointment of Max and the new board, stability has ensued. But due to all the work that has been underway in club development land and now the Stadium, there are obviously many balls in the air for the management of our club to juggle.

I therefore am giving them the benefit of the doubt for now till things settle down. Once all this is over with I will expect, probably starting around mid season next year once we are playing out of our brand spanking new stadium and hopefully in front of a large crowd most weeks and a better performing team, our management to start correcting some of the lost ground that we incurred in perception with sponsors during the crap years before. Then I only expect the best for our club onwards. If not something is terribly wrong again.

But for now I expect a coach that has had charge of a roster for going on 5 seasons to get it mostly right. And to go into another season without at least one big brutal frontrower after getting away with it the previous season due to all the favourable things many of us here have so methodically and thoughtfully discussed ad nauseam to help us reach the top 4, while all you other dribblers keep crapping on that we don't offer solutions or can't possibly understand the underlining issues, is a terrible blunder by the head coach.

No excuse I'm afraid for him.

But you refuse to understand how the first two paragraphs impact the second. No one wants to work for a basket case business, and players are ultimately just employees.

I'll tell you what I reckon is dribbling? Blokes who say "we should have signed player x" and offer absolutely no other insight into how we were supposed to compete with the club that did sign them other than, and I might be slightly off with the quote, making them "an offer they can't refuse" (ie paying overs)

Oh I didn't realise that Hayne could bulldoze defenses like Radrada could. I must have missed that in all these years.
He can bulldoze better than most wingers. Anyway Radradra wasn't a front rower. His best work was beating players one-on-one, which Hayne can also do when fit. Finally picking him on the wing was a great move. It's just unfortunate he's injured.
You pelican. Get back into your cave.As for Evens, by his own admission he has been crap.
By his own admission his fitness is down due to a disrupted pre-season.
And who is this biggest forward that you speak of? And why is he so unfit? Can't be much chop as a player.
He's the same size as Junior Paulo though. He's certainly fat enough for you.

No Ram, Hayne replaced Semi and then was put in the centres, a different position to what Semi even played .

The idea behind promotion is so juniors can see an opportunity. I imagine Sharks who apparently where interested would use the spill, oh BA when was the last time he gave a young guy a chance. He prefers older and experienced players.
If I was recruiting this is the angle id be taking when poaching young eels players. We are talking guys under 22yld whos minds could easily be twisted and taken advantage of with the smarter recruiters....

Yeah but you don't just blood juniors for the hell of it either. It's a balancing act, and we're losing at the moment so we aren't in a position to throw out token first grade spots.

If Niukore was a middle forward I'd suggest he would have already got a shot.

But the whole swapping-at-fullback thing was to get him involved in the kick return. Plus centres are expected to help with go forward on exit sets anyway. Auva'a and Takairangi do it. Even Mennings does.

Mate, our coach has been blessed with all the positive stories by the media and players constantly praising him as a great mentor, bla, bla, bla...

Our club by all reports is now stable and professional and we can always pay the bills, unlike some other clubs that have always struggled. We play out of one of the best club grounds, and soon to be the best in the league. We finished 4th last season which so many of you hang your hat on. So what exactly is our problem in trying to get players to the club? How is any of the previous issues with management impacting our recruitment of today?

You are a dribble, one of many on this forum so there is no need to feel alone. Dribblers will clasp onto anything to justify their misguided excuses.

Mate, we got drilled on the weekend by a one man pack(Fifita). But excuse whores like you will look at the close 2 point difference at the end and say we were just of the pace a little.

But I say, the coach has totally stuffed up and he is getting what he created. He needs to own it.
