My mail is that Bernie is effectively completing both the CEO and Football Manager roles. I am not sure of his experience as a Football Manager but that is what I believe is currently the position.

I'd love Brian Smith back at our club - as far as I'm concerned, he'sa club legend, and would really help BA out.

It's a pipe dream, but something I cling onto...

I've been saying it for years, before DA got the job.

Smithy still loves the club and giving him the head of football would be a no brainer. Sadly will the people in charge make the right call???

For the Stats lovers on here...

Ivan Cleary
First 5 years as FG coach @ Warriors.
Coached: 126
Won: 61
Lost: 65
Win Percentage: 48.4%

Brad Arthur
First 5 years as FG Coach @ Eels (excluding interim coach in 2012)
Coached: 108
Won: 52
Lost: 56
Win Percentage: 48.1%

Actually, I just realised it was unfair to use Cleary's tenure at the Warriors as a comparison with BA.

It was Cleary's first time as a FG coach and the Warriors were a basket case when he got there with a roster that needed cleaning out, I mean it included players like Steve Price, Simon Mannering, Manu Vatuvei, Nathan Fien, etc. The Warriors in the 3 years before Cleary got there were a powerhouse, having finished 14th, 11th and 6th.

BA on the other hand had it easy with Parra, we were in a great position coming off of 2 wooden spoons and a 14th place before he arrived, and we had a quality roster to go with those placings.

I should have compared BA's first 4 years here with Cleary's time at the Panthers who had just finished 12th, 4th and 11th in the preceding years before Ivan managed them into 15th, 10th, 4th and 11th - he turned them into a powerhouse. 4 years at Penrith, 98 games as coach, 44 wins for a 44.9% win ratio.

Compared with BA who in his first 4 years managed to win 50 games of the 98 he coached for a 51% win ratio.

Hands down Cleary is clearly the better coach.

I just get the feeling that BA dosent want a Football Manager. He had DA in that role once and there was constant rumours that BA wasnt too chuffed about it. Maybe BA has too much on his plate? Regardless I reckon he wants to run the whole shooting match.
What happened to Kimmorley?

He is an intense control freak which is why he should fall on his sword. Nobody to blame but himself. Also rarely listens about recruitment and retention. He knows everything.

Hey Avenger, serious question mate.

Have you ever personally met BA or are you basing a lot of your opinions on what someone else you know has said about him or what you have seen, heard and read in the media?

Just wondering.

Yep agree to disagree. I gave you a few good reasons why Cleary was likely sacked but obviously that didn’t gel with your own view of him.

Personally, I put him in a bracket of solid first grade coaches behind the truly elite (Bennett, Bellamy et al). He might be better than BA in a few areas but he isn’t streets ahead of him. I reckon more people would agree with me on this than you.

Hmmm. I smell a poll coming up. Anyone know someone good at starting one?

BA came in with Peats,Norman signed up along with KE and Manu coming in. He had it a lot better then Ricky or SK.

From memory we were also bottom 4 in both reserve grade and 20s the 3 years preceeding BA's coaching tenure, so it wasn't like we had some great juniors coming through.
