I'm sure we're not signing him into the top 17.Apparently he is very small and bog average from one eyed eels fans

My point is just because Mannah is cheap (on the cap) doesn't mean we should pay more than 16 other players top 17 money. If we're paying him $450k, he's essentially only costing us $150k under the salary cap. He's worth more than $150k a year. But if he's not here we don't get the $300k discount.
Did anyone ever answer the question about whether they need to be consecutive years?Mannah is the only player eligible, and the only player anywhere near eligible given that we sent Morgs to Melbourne. So, if Mannah goes, there is nobody else with sufficient tenure to use the allowance on.
Unless Fogarty is our 'next 17' fullback and goal-kicking option. But I agree, I doubt we will re-sign both Kelly and Cornish. You'd think we will probably retain one of them though.Interesting signing, I gather we won't re-sign Kelly or Cornish as a result.

A first grade Halfback?
Yeah. It's not like the MPA that applies equally for every club. The LSA only applies if you have sufficient player(s) that qualify.Mannah is the only player eligible, and the only player anywhere near eligible given that we sent Morgs to Melbourne. Long Serving Player Allowance ($300K) per Club for eligible players who have played more than six continuous years of grade football with that club including Holden Cup and NSW Cup.
Plus there's a good chance Williams is in the top 25 (as opposed to a backup in the second tier). Why would Sam Williams leave the Raiders, as their back up half, to come to Parra as the back up half and play for Wenty?

Anyway, Terepo has been at the club since before 2010 as well. How far back do they have to go to qualify?
He's just playing a role he's no longer suited for.
Then Norman could play 'halfback' and Marshall could play 'five eighth'.
I don't think either will ever be a first grader, so I would go with whichever one is most able to come straight in and support the existing first choice half. In round one this year that was Kelly. Maybe it will be different next year.I think I'd go for Cornish, based purely on the fact that he's younger. We've given Kelly enough chances to show what he's got and I don't see him improving anything that he's already shown us.

It has to be 6 continuous years.
Cheers. What if you put in six years, leave and come back? I assume you start from scratch?
That's harsh. In 13 games this year he has 8 try assists and 8 line break assists. That's not Thurston class but it's certainly worthy of a top 17 NRL half. In defence he has been good enough as well. Only four times has he missed more than 2 tackles (once he missed 5 tackles and twice he missed 4) - those numbers are also typical of an NRL standard half.As you know, they are essentially the same thing, just on either side of the ruck. My point is he's no longer a first grade standard "half" IMO.
Yeah but that's poor coaching from Mary and with us, Norman would take control with Benji just "chiming in"yes. Blake green just chimes in - Benji tries to take control and messes it up.
Garbage
If Robson is happy to sign as a backup that would be the best option. We could even give him more than minimum salary in the top 25. But how much would he want to put himself through another pre-season? I reckon he'd currently be on about $100k for half a season. What sort of pay cut would he cop to go through it all again? So should we really just punt both of them and re-sign Robbo for another year as the backup and see how Fogarty goes?
Robbo can also cover 9 if needed.
Just... for one more season. And no matter what Bart thinks he is still in the clubs best 17 players.
