Maybe in Canberra but he would struggle to get close to that as an unskilled employee in Sydney.
See him coaching but.
I remember he was in landscaping before he made his name with us.

His error rate is blown out by the statistical outlier of his most recent game, where he made 5 errors. Prior to that he was on 12 in 12 games. His LBAs and TAs are comparable with plenty of finals bound halves, and his tackle effectiveness is better than a few. I reckon he would go a lot better in a better team like ours.Perhaps I was a little harsh. Those stats are below average for a first grade half but not the worst for each category. However, the fact he is towards the bottom for both LBAs and TAs indicates he is one of the worst halves currently going round. Benji also has one of the worst error rates per game (1.3), only trumped by Morgan who offers plenty more of LBAs and TAs. I'd safely classify him as a fringe first grader.
Marshall is doing better in every attacking category bar goals and points. Hodkinson's defence is better, but he is a strong defensive half. Marshall is still defending at NRL standard.True, but Hodkinson is playing in a worse side and is producing better numbers.
Probably more the fact that the Dragons have nobody capable of playing as a primary playmaker. Every team needs solid first graders, but if your best lineup contains 17 of them your defence will probably be good but your attack will struggle. Anyway the top teams have a few no-more-than-solid first graders, including in important positions (e.g. Blake Green). Also, you have to consider whether it's the dragons making Benji worse or Benji making the dragons worse
Jamal Fogarty’s imminent move to a Sydney NRL club shows Gold Coast Titans must lock in Queensland Cup stars now

GOLD Coast, here are the Queensland Cup players you simply cannot afford to let slip through the net.
News that Burleigh halfback Jamal Fogarty is set to head to Sydney next year for a well-deserved shot at the NRL should spark a sense of urgency at the Titans to secure other local rising stars before it’s too late.
Beaudesert product Fogarty has this season stamped himself as the premier half in the Queensland Cup.
Before long, he could be guiding a rival NRL club to success.

Are we that committed though? We haven't announced him. Given that second tier signings are virtually zero risk (value against the cap) it makes sense to throw out offers wherever you think you might get some value. I would assume this guy is outside the top 25. You would have to be very confident (or desperate) to offer a top 25 contract to an external signing who has never played first grade.Fogarty has certainly done his time in the lower grades. He's obviously got plenty ahead of him in the halves at the Titans next season.
It's difficult to really get a gauge on why we've committed to him this early for next season for someone that will really just be a second tier signing.
Because he is younger and has much more potential than Luke Kelly.Fogarty has certainly done his time in the lower grades. He's obviously got plenty ahead of him in the halves at the Titans next season.

The last 'best half in the QLD Cup' that a club took a punt on was a guy called DCE. Manly did it because they had just lost Trent Hodkinson to Canterbury and were in a similar situation to us. The QLD Cup is superior to ours here in NSW and constantly produces NRL stars, especially in the last few years. Are we that committed though? We haven't announced him. They didn't 'take a punt on him' from the QLD Cup. DCE has been in Manly's system ever since he was 19, and on an NRL contract (full time) ever since he graduated from their NYC team. So he was already contracted to Manly the entire time he played for the Sunshine Coast (Manly's feeder team at the time). The last 'best half in the QLD Cup' that a club took a punt on was a guy called DCE. Didn't realise. But didn't he make his debut for Manly at age 22?They didn't 'take a punt on him' from the QLD Cup. Fogarty was in the Titans' system right up until last year, but this year he wasn't retained and is currently contracted to Burleigh. Taylor and Cullen replaced him in the Titans NRL squad.
