But you quoted my Jennings post.
Sorry if I caused alarm comrade.
But you quoted my Jennings post.
He’s really not that good, Ele. IMO anyway.
Good summary Ram but the usual suspects will disagree for the sake of it. We think very much alike and I've already stated those 2 players are the ones we should go after. I'd throw the bank at TPJ as he is a monster already and will only get better and is the future. Klemmer would be an ok signing but has his limitations and doubt his mind would really be in it leaving the dogs. I'd like us to approach them for Fritata-Mariner? if we have money left over from 3 new middle forwards and a decent dummy half.
Not rocket science, and very doable for good capable operators.
If only we had you at the helm.
That's what I and everybody else keeps saying. I'm the Phil Gould of supporters. Just give me one year and I would fix this club for good. Just one year baby, just give me one year we will be transformed.
Powerhouse!!!
And as you are the Phil Gould of supporters, you'd do it for free !
He's not great, but he's playing ok for the Tigers at the moment.
I think when the he left the Eels, nobody lost any sleep over it.
Exactly, Raymond Faitala-Mariner would also be a great buy and I have mentioned here before the way to approach him and the Dogs to get him and them to break his contract early. Not rocket science, and very doable for good capable operators.
Imagine the following signings.
Junior
Lodge
TPJ
RFM
Api
What a transformation to our team. Title contenders or what?
He actually is playing better than I ever thought he would. He was terrible for us in NYC. But, I don’t think he would make FG at any other club.
Most of the Tigers squad is pretty shit but Cleary has got them playing beyond their means, hats off to him and them.
I ask again, why on earth would the Dogs let a bloke go who is not on big coin and recently re-signed for 3 or so years? It won't help their cap problems. They'll just let the Morris boys go, and try to move on a big $$ player. Getting rid of a bloke who is providing value would be their last option.
Until we got done for rorting the salary cap and docked all our points.Exactly, Raymond Faitala-Mariner would also be a great buy and I have mentioned here before the way to approach him and the Dogs to get him and them to break his contract early. I could build an ark with the dead wood that's washed upon the shores of Lake Parramatta over the past decade. Just sayin'.Not if we got rid of all the dead wood that is lying around at the moment.
Ok Barry, found it. Below is what I have previously posted on the subject. -
Yes exactly. Perfect in fact. If for arguments sake, he is on 200k and we offer him 350-400k for example, which he is well worth it and on form is playing closer to a 500k player, then that would be very very tempting for a player like him. To increase your earnings by around 100% at this point of his career he and his manager would be mad not to seriously look at making the move.
On the other hand, the Dogs are in a very difficult position to try and match our offer. Then even if they obviously wouldn't want to let him go, if he got a bee in his bonnet about it, voila, they may have very little choice in the matter. To keep a player that is very unhappy in a team that isn't travelling to well can be an even bigger cancer.
BA can throw even more kindling onto the fire and court him with love and uber praise and respect and outline the wonderful things he could add to his game in a team with great halves and better finishers...e.t.c.
We have seen players and managers do this a million times. The difference is usually arsehole teams are the beneficiaries. It is about time we turned the tables on them while they are vulnerable I say.
Not rocket science, just good smart strong management. Stuff Peter Bullfrog Moore would be proud of.

As per the conversation a couple of weeks ago, clubs will have a lot more leverage with respect to Klemmer, Mbye, Woods, Foran et al. If I were running the Dogs, RFM would be one of the last players I'd consider letting go mid-contract.
