He might have debuted in 2010 (the year he turned 21) but they had Hodkinson (and Foran) on the books, so they were able to let DCE develop in reserve grade for the year. And yes they ran their feeder team in the QLD Cup because the standard was higher. I believe the Tigers, Raiders and Storm did a similar thing, which led to the NSWRL threatening to ban those clubs from participating in the Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup competitions unless they moved their reserve players to the NSW Cup. The Storm have recently moved their reserves back to the ISC (QLD Cup) and now play their under 18s/16s players in the Mal Meninga and Cyril Connell Cups (QRL versions of SG Ball and Harold Matts).
