Do you reckon this looks an okay top 17 or still missing someone?

1. French
2. Hayne
3. Jennings
4, Gutho
5. Ferguson
6. Norman
7. Moses
8. Alvaro
9. Segeyaro
10. Paulo
11. Ma'u
12. Moeroa
13. Brown
14. Mahoney
15. Mannah
16. Lane
17. Musgrave

I reckon we are close to having this squad, but still think there are 2 forwards to come who will force their way into the top 17 (at the expense of Lane and probably Ma'u).

I think if we can get one more big powerful frontrower that can eat up metres, then we are cooking with gas. The team that you posted will do well if they all player close to their potential. My only concern is that when junior who isn't the most fittest of players, comes off, we will lose much of his go forward that breaks up defenses and tires out the opposition. Having a Taupau type that can come on and maintain the rage makes all the difference in weakening teams resolve and allows our team to win the ruck and the all important fast play the ball. It also gives Junior the advantage of coming on in his second stint opposed by very tired and under pressure defenses and should allow him to have an even better second stint. Not all the pressure to simply be on his shoulder to make a major dent in the opposition every time. This then will also help all the other forwards to keep up the high standard in the same way. This is how you get a positive knock on affect.

Look at Souths this year, they are the number one team in the NRL for fastest play the ball. Everything starts from there. With the backline that we have, if we can limit the errors, and get them clean early ball, we will be the team to beat. The proviso is we keep Norman and dispense this nonsense of trying to sign Austin.

Norman and Moses would be awesome in the above team. Lets hope the coach can see this and keeps him. Next year is not the year I would be letting Norman go, the year when we finally have the power up front to reek havoc. Norman and Moses are just like 95% of all the other halves in this world, they need forwards that can dominate the ruck, look at A. Reynolds this year compared to last year, not just for parts of the game either. Last year when we were winning the ruck more times then not they both shone very brightly. Well with the above team, I believe they will go to another level.

Nothing has changed. It would be very disappointing to lose our strong halves combo, only to replace one with an inferior player and then wonder what if again.

If we can jag a hooker and one more frontrower, we are set. If we can also add another quality backrower to that list, yeah baby...bonus!

Fingers crossed that Evans comes good and Musgrove plays to his potential. And that the rumours re: Segeyaro are accurate.

Missing a destructive edge forward off the bench. And I’m not a fan of french at fullback. Other than that it’s not bad.

I dont think cooked. He has 40 tackle breaks. More then lnglis and gagai.
His issue has been same all career. When teams going well jennings fires. When in trenches he doesnt fight. Was same when panthers struggling.
If we become a force again Jennings will fire up again I gaurantee. At 31 he wont be cooked. Just having a shit year and has a lazy attitude

Not a good attribute if true, considering he’s a leader.

So you're advocating to continue to play our $350k plus prized middle forward 2018 recruit in Reserve Grade?

I just hope BA keeps a pathway for some young guys. I feel like he will via nsw cup.

As it stands we need to now focus on who partners Moses, Hooker and one more prop.

How old is Dunster? Is he any chance of first in 2019?

We don’t have the luxury of unlimited tpa’s, what we do have is a huge junior nusery, which we need to capitalise on.

BA needs to do what BS was able to do. Produce junior after junior. Only way to be competitive in a salary cap era is to have ‘cheap’ juniors playing an integral role.

Or manage TPA's properly or (better still) ensure a sensible combination of the two.
