Last f**king year, it means SFA this season.
Not when you're talking about players who were also playing in the NRL prior to this year.
It was also when we had the greatest outside back in the comp and were getting away with murder in the ruck. Plus last year we weren't trained by an AFL clown with some experimental new way of running with our thumbs up our arses. From round 1 we looked smaller than every other team in the comp and have struggled in the collisions and controlling the ruck.

The coach misread how the season has gone, once the crackdown happened we were dead in the water.
The crackdown was never on for long.

Haven’t really watched him, but he hasn’t played a great deal of grade at Newcastle this year. Has injury hampered him or is he bog average? Can he provide more than Corey?
He has struggled to get a game this year even with Pearce out, yeah lets sign him up quick FFS. Cogger was preferred and he is leaving at the end of the year as well.

Rissoling Norman isn't just about freeing cap space. The main benefit would be removing his influence from the group.
As I mentioned, we’ve put up with his shit for 5 years now and have been at least competitive in 3 of those 5 years. It seems ridiculous to get rid of him a year early and pay him to play elsewhere...especially when it will lead to an inferior replacement coming into the team.

From all reports Brown has a good head on his shoulders so I don’t think Norman’s behaviour is likely to rub off on him, but I sure as shit think he can learn plenty from an on-field perspective.

And it is no coincidence that since the game has flowed a little more we have been more competitive, we beat the Cows lead Souths for a half and should of beaten the Saints. The nit picking penalties seemed to be back against Newcastle and we were f**king terrible.

FFS he is way ahead of any 21yo half that we have at the club. Who are you going to play at 7 if we lose Moses with an injury in 2019 ? Gutho ? Please no, we need depth. Maybe he turns out to be a good player and can play 6 ?

We are putting up with a inept coach why not give Corey another year as well........

Who cares about his age???? We need an experienced half capable of leading a side around and taking pressure off Moses. Has Lamb shown any of those qualities in first grade??? f**k no so just what we need another bloke not good enough for first grade chewing up cap space. Depth has got us a f**king spoon we need quality in the spine, you let go Norman you need to replace him with someone at least close to his level. Not some struggling 21 year old who couldn't crack it for a spot with Newcastle even with their number 1 half out.

Honestly if there were rumours that the club was chasing Ivan Milat half you lot would be spurting in your jocks about all the benefits he could bring to the club. FMD.

Because he wasn't a senior player until last year (and also still on best behaviour) so he was less influential. He is now very influential within the group, and that influence is increasingly negative.

The two halves who will be playing ISP on the weekend will be 21 or under next year. One of them has at least as much potential as Lamb (although I think he will be significantly better than Lamb after a fulltime offseason with an NRL squad). Why can’t he be the back up?

Marty Tapau will be 29 start of next season.
He has battered himself for 4 or 5 yrs at a extremely high level. Unlike your Woods or Tamous who I feel bodies have taken less beatings.
He will want a min 3 or maybe 4yr contract.
He will demand huge dollars.

2yrs ago I'd offered him a 4yr deal. Now I reckon he could drop off at any time. I highly doubt he will maintain his current level for a full 3 or 4 yrs. Sure its possible but this will be his last big contract and he would know it. The incentive to rip in each week would be lost to gain a lucrative deal. Seen it all before. Old guy gets his last big pay day and becomes a problem to cap. Due to age other clubs become disinterested.

And yes I am aware he may kill it for 4 yrs. But he would demand money to kill it so anything less is a risk. Any sort of drop off in form would mean a problem. Unlike Ferguson who if form drops may play at worse like a 300k player, Marty would have potential to be nothing more then a 200k hit it up guy. Its not going to take a lot for him to lost that little bit of oomph and just become you everyday hit it up Islander that can get for 200k. In other words a Terepo level.

How do you know what influence he has at the club? I don’t reckon too many players take him that seriously. I’m sure they think he’s a Good player, but a dumb arse between the ears. I’m sure they respect him accordingly.

His age means there is significant chance of a large jump in ability from one season to the next. Being Parra though there is also a significant chance of an inexplicable loss of form.

No, we need to put more pressure on Moses so we get full value out of him. Moses has shown he has massive talent. He need to stop playing second fiddle to someone older and louder, much like Morgan at the Cowboys.

If I was cheif recruiter this is what id be telling them.
Only a club like Rooster can afford to take a punt on him.
For the money he'd want we could of landed Crighton. Who has all his best footy infront of him.
If BA signs him I'd be pissed

Yep, if we are going to roll the dice on a young half do it with Brown who has the talent to be a top quality first grader. Heck Brown is probably an already better player than Plod Lamb. But hey lets not question the coach or recruitment because they did such an amazing job this year. I mean we are just death riders.

I'm not talking about potential. I'm talking ready for NRL as early as Rnd 1 next year.

If we had a merkin like Robbo still in the club, I would not be arguing the case for Lamb.

All the same, Lamb comes with pedigree, is a goal kicker and has already grown into his body.

Is it safe to assume Norman is BA’s scapegoat for 2108?

Moses has shown nothing to suggest he is a leading half or capable of leading a team around the park. He never did it at the Tigers and last year it was shared. Even in the WC he played the running 6 role and killed it while Farah played 7, his best spot is 6 so lets lump all the pressure on him with another young half not capable of stepping up when needed.

Blake Green would of been a perfect foil for Moses, 2 year deal until Brown is ready to take over.
