I'm not talking about potential. I'm talking ready for NRL as early as Rnd 1 next year.

If we had a merkin like Robbo still in the club, I would not be arguing the case for Lamb.

All the same, Lamb comes with pedigree, is a goal kicker and has already grown into his body.
FFS we have a NRL ready half to partner Moses. His name is Corey f**king Norman.

The two halves who will be playing ISP on the weekend will be 21 or under next year. One of them has at least as much potential as Lamb (although I think he will be significantly better than Lamb after a fulltime offseason with an NRL squad). Why can’t he be the back up?

Not to be pedantic or anything but both will be 20 or younger next year.

His age means there is significant chance of a large jump in ability from one season to the next. Being Parra though there is also a significant chance of an inexplicable loss of form.

No, we need to put more pressure on Moses so we get full value out of him. Moses has shown he has massive talent. He need to stop playing second fiddle to someone older and louder, much like Morgan at the Cowboys.

What is wrong with May, Lamb,Moses and Brown.
Lamb and Brown start season at NSW cup. May in halves. If Brock or Browns forms to good they come into first grade. May moves to utlity if his forms good enough to stay in first grade.
If May kills its and Brown also does then we dont have a gun being held to our heads by Moses come negotiations. We have two young halves who wont deamn close to a mill a season. We can then bolster our pack for 2020 and any other weakness and give our two young halves a real crack at a premiership.
Kind of like a game of chess. Always thinking of 2 moves ahead.
If Norman and Moses killed it this year fans wynge if we dont sign back up. Problem is both would cost 1 million each. Moses is going to be asking for close to that also id say. I reckon we cover our arses so the little prick can't screw us.

So you are saying a bloke who couldn't get a crack at Newcastle even after they had their main half out is good enough to be a half for us next season in round 1??? Way to reach for the stars. Honestly the acceptance of shit from Eels fans mind boggling.

Who cares about his age???? We need an experienced half capable of leading a side around and taking pressure off Moses. Has Lamb shown any of those qualities in first grade??? f**k no so just what we need another bloke not good enough for first grade chewing up cap space. Depth has got us a f**king spoon we need quality in the spine, you let go Norman you need to replace him with someone at least close to his level. Not some struggling 21 year old who couldn't crack it for a spot with Newcastle even with their number 1 half out.

FMD how many 21yo halves just debut and cane it ? The Panthers got lucky. Storm have tried 3 kids so far this year to replace Cronk. So I guess you would say Jacks, Croft etc have all struggled as well because they have not set the house on fire ?

I was talking about depth. I was saying if we lost Moses we need a merkin to step in. I never said that we should be signing Brock Lamb for a NRL starting 6 or 7.

Well with Norman going and us signing lamb who the f**k do you think will be partnering Moses??? Next year we already have Brown and Salmon in the top 30, you think we can afford to have another depth signing with Lamb and then still afford to be paying another half or keeping Norman on top dollar??? Derp!!

What a geniused comparison, The Storm have Smith and Slater in their spine plus the world class Munster. We have the inconsistent Moses, Guth who is struggling back from a knee reco and reserve grade options at 9. Jacks has been around for years and Croft has shown plenty but struggled for consistency. Lamb has shown nothing even remotely close to be a first grader. But now you are changing your tune and saying he is just for depth lol. How many game have you even seen him play???

Yep, if we are going to roll the dice on a young half do it with Brown who has the talent to be a top quality first grader. Heck Brown is probably an already better player than Plod Lamb. But hey lets not question the coach or recruitment because they did such an amazing job this year. I mean we are just death riders.
Except Lamb has proven he can already cope with the defensive load in first grade. Alongside Moses he only needs to kick, tackle and control his side of the field. He doesn't need to be the go-to guy after a quick play-the-ball.

Moses has shown nothing to suggest he is a leading half or capable of leading a team around the park. He never did it at the Tigers and last year it was shared. Even in the WC he played the running 6 role and killed it while Farah played 7, his best spot is 6 so lets lump all the pressure on him with another young half not capable of stepping up when needed.

Blake Green would of been a perfect foil for Moses, 2 year deal until Brown is ready to take over.
Last year Moses led the team in LBAs by a long way. In fact after joining us he was one of the best in the NRL for LBAs in the second half of the year. That's a 'running 6' is it? Every good playmaker has a running game ffs.

They had to bring in Cogger because he has a better kicking game than Watson or Lamb. They weren't going to drop Watson - they're paying the merkin a lot of money.

A 24 year old has lost ability, has he? On the decline now he's hit his mid-20s? FFS you've got no idea.
