Who can win the comp this season?

Top 8 teams

Saints - Should of beat
Panthers - Could of beat x 2
Sharks- pushed them twice
Warriors - Could of won
Brisbane - Bad ref call or do win
Souths - one woefull display/ One should of won

Add it up and in 10 games we lost by an average of 6.2 points. Take out that shocking display against Souths and it comes down do 4.8 points.

Also missing keys players in a lot of those games. But we will add Ferguson and Jnr Paulo. I'd also imagine Marata and Mahoney will be far improved. Gutherson coming back from a knee reco will also be like a new signing.I couldn't imabine Moses and Norman playing any worse and same goes for Jennings.
Has anyone this season had an amazing season like Guth did last year for example? NOPE. Alvaro and Terepo have been great but I only expect them to improve. Not like they have magic feet and are hugely influential.

A few more juniors may come on and play small roles, unsure any will have a huge possitive on the team but more add to depth and be further advanced for NRL in 2020 , but hey you never know. There could be a guy who explodes on the scene.

Very interested in how we hold up against Saints,Storm and Roosters in last few games.

No. He is running harder. Lifted

You sure about that?

He has averaged 9.3 m per run this year, yet since he has come back he is averaging less in 2 of his 3 games:

Souths - 8.7 m per run
dogs - 11 m per run (his 40m or so run increased his average)
Newcastle - 8.1 m per run

Means nothing. He has lifted

That is a depressing list Gronk.

Looking at that, we could so easily have 6 or 7 more wins. Only penalties, goal kicking or bounce of the ball have cost us.
Not kicking for goal when awarded a penalty right in front is obviously a BA master stroke this year. Has cost us several games for sure. Even on Saturday we should have scored 4 more points which might have won the game for us.

I don’t think there’s any benefit to finishing last. Some players might take positives out of it but on the whole I’d say there’d be more detriment across the board finishing last instead of 15th opposed to the “benefits” of finishing last
Any finish towards the bottom signals that all is not right and drastic changes need to happen. Hopefully our review will highlight some areas of obvious need but I doubt it'll extend to the coach, players and tactics.

More income would probably mean more to spend on football operations.

Still doesn't correlate to onfield performance. From what I understand the Sharks spend less than most other clubs on their football department, doesn't seem to affect them making Final Series.

I'm trying to like this post but at the end of the day these guys are earning dollars that the average punter can only dream of. I'd sure as hell I'd be motivated to do my absolute best if I was on that coin.
That is a very valid point Eelogical but do they actually realise that? As a decent footballer you've, from a young age, been paid a decent wage. At 18 you might be paid $60k or more and not realise that in the real world the sort of wages they earn is rare. Much like a school teacher who goes from school to uni and into teaching. Usually they have no comprehension how the world actually works and generally make poor teachers because they know little of real life skills. The way some footballers destroy their careers with absolutely stupid decisions seems to validate that they have NFI about the real world.

What a load of crap Talk about sugar coating fmd. We've lost 15 games you dope, and only beat
dogs - who are in turmoil
Manly - on the back of the Hastings incident
Wests - very lucky to win that
NQ - could have gone either way and they are rubbish anyway

I usually agree with you Hindy, but not on this one

You don't seriously believe that they're are not going to review BA and the players? I daresay it would have been stop numero uno

We need bigger backs FFS! Gutherson and French made less than 60 metres between them last night. The fewest metres made by any of Souths' back five was Johnston with 64.

Meanwhile we had four middle forwards make over 100 metres. Souths only had three.

If we keep the same backline as we have now, plus the addition of Fergo, it will be good enough and fast enough to trouble any side in the league. As odd as it may sound it was the forwards who floundered against Souths when they stepped up when they got even possession. Also Haynes last 20 min where he went missing due to fatigue. But that again is a sign that the forwards missed their assignment when the team has to rely on a winger to keep them in the game.

Even though our forwards played well when Souths were playing flat, we didn't tire them out when we were dominating. That's because our forwards aren't big and brutal enough with their smaller body shapes. It doesn't hurt the opposing defenders or wear them out as much. Then when a big and powerful forward pack like Souths decide to kick up a gear, we can't go with them and most teams know this.

Most teams know when it comes to playing Parra and defending, move up quick with numbers and go in with three to put them down. Work them over like this and then just run straight and hard. Our boys will get gassed quickly and then when we have the ball, our forwards will not be able to bend or break the line or off offload. Then the backs will find less time and space to do their thing. Teams don't fear our players at all and that is a telling factor.

Paulo, and Lane are a great start, but that had not be where it ends or we will find ourselves in a similar position as we are now very quickly next year again. We may not come last but we will be in the lower 8 again. Paulo is a great player on his day and I like the signing, but he is a slug who won't put in if the team is not doing well. He is a fare weather player so to speak, who needs a lot of guidance off the field to keep fit and focused. If he senses that we are in for a shit season, his enthusiasm will wane and therefore his game suffers. Similar to Jennings.

At the start before we get drunk and naked.

I have to correct you there dear Gary, but of course you wouldn't know just yet, since you are still a virgy, but we arrive naked and therefore are ALWAYS naked. That is part of the thrill of being in the CLUB.

By the way, Hindy and I have Christened our club and named it Bones and Bones in a special ceremony we laid on that first and fateful day our club came into existence and I'm sure you'll be stirred and excited when you see our secret emblem, it is beyond delightful. I think you'll agree though, it all sound delicious.

One could only imagine, but to speak out and bring 'The Club' into disrepute risks a $10,000.00 fine.

No money ever need be exchanged. If someone is deemed guilty of an offence, they will just have to learn to swallow their guilt in front of the other members laying prostate on the sacred alter of bones and bones. Like I said, there is no shame in our club, just total transparency.

No excuses here boys.

Way I see it is we need about 8 more points a game. With Jnr and Fergo plus everyone fit and some jnrs coming through we can then win 50% of ones lost.Maybe 60%
And those few narrow wins will then become 10-14 point wins which look convincing.

We have not once had our strongest 17. Actually have we ever had 15 of our best? I'd say the team against Souths was closest to best.
I reckon Manu,Trex,Edwards,Yung Jennings play however over
Bevan,Gower,Vave and lets use Kaysa who played 4 mins.
