Actually Hayne is probably on only 600k out of the Titans cap, but he would of used up all their marquee allowance. Smart play on their part considering they really had no one to spend it on.
The MPA is capped and every club gets it, so it may as well be considered part of the cap. If the Titans hadn't spent it on Hayne they could have spent it on anyone else. They could have split it amongst their top 17 if they wanted.

Well why hadn't they already used it then??? Obviously they had it set up to snare DCE didn't use it so they were able to give it to Hayne.

Why such hate mate. I am just giving my opinion. You don't like it, fine, but to resort to out right childish putdowns, well says a lot about you.

Is this the way you react in face to face discussions when your view is different to others?

You seem to be a very well rounded individual. Your family must be proud.

What? Childish putdown? explain how that was a childish putdown please?

And yes, when I make a joke and someone completely misses the fact that I made a joke I do point it out to them...

I am well rounded actually, cheers for that.

As mentioned the only reason Hayne ended up at the titans is because DCE backflipped last year or they would have no cap space.
We need strong teams in places like the Gold Coast and Newcastle, Hayne going to the titans is good for the game, the NRL should help the Knights get a marquee player, their fans will only take so much of getting flogged every week before they stop turning up to game and buying memberships. Knights roster looks not much better for next year ethier.

I reckon the NRL should get the combo of Marshall and Farah at the Knights. It'd give the knights supporters hope and every other supporter a good laugh.

I agree that we should not panic and just sign anyone. If a good player is not available until 2018 (Reynolds Moses Mbye ) then you just have to be patient. Plan B is sign an Australian Schoolboy 7 who is about to break points scoring record in Qld Cup. Tick.

Yes he could be another Humble or Murray fail, but you've got to give it a crack.
I don't know what the best option is but passing on a half this year doesn't guarantee you get the one you want next year. As we've been so crap for so long I'd lean toward signing someone decent this year.

Also if we are looking to strengthen our frontrow further for next year, then as mentioned by others, Paul Vaughan should be a no brainer. He is a consistent 100m+ player, and regularly get over the 120m mark.

Mind you his last 3 games I think in 1st grade, he made less then the 100m+ he was making all season before that. Then he was dropped down to reserves. I find this a bit strange when you compare his stats to Shanon Boyd's, who has been doing less then 100m a game almost all year. Yet Boyd is playing NRL and Vaughan, till out injured with a sternum problem, was relegated to reserves.

This may help us if we show him that love all these athletes so desire, to acquire an early release. Seduce the mother f**ker.

Quid pro quo, aye Ricky.

Its been over a week now and I've absorbed the disappointment of Hayne defecting. Upon reflection you are bang on. This is good for the game.

Agree that pros far outweigh the cons. Pros for the Titans, NRL and even us.

Jarryd should not expect to be welcomed home as local hero however. I feel for him and I think he was pushed into signing by his manager and others, without anticipating the fallout from the 100s of thousands of punters that had emotionally invested in his career.

I couldn't care less about the amateur bumblefest we refer to as the NRL, tbh.

And we have been in a similar situation to the Knights - sucking every week - abd we are still turning up to support this team.

Hell, this season has been the worst year we've ever had for obvious reasons, and we're still here.

f**k the NRL.

Imo.
