Marata is a better defender than CHN (though CHN isn't bad). Attacking on the edge Marata is almost a non entity while CHN is very good:

CHN - 2017 (debut year): 20 games, 6 tries, 13 line breaks , 44 tackle busts (2.2 a game) 22 offloads, 27.7 tackles a game , (2.8 missed a game)

CHN - 2018: 22 games, 6 tries, 3 try assists, 34 tackle busts (1.54 a game), 8 line breaks, 38 offloads, 407 tackles , 45 missed tackles (2.04 a game), 90% effectiveness

Marata - 2018: 14 games, 0 tries, 0 try assists, 15 tackle busts (1.07 a game), 0 line breaks, 0 offloads, 349 tackles, 18 missed tackles (1.29 a game), , 95% effectiveness

Yet interestingly Marata is averaging 8 runs for 72 metres and CHN 8 runs for 66 metres in 2018.

While the better attacking stats for CHN could party be contributed to our poor attack and Norman/Moses having poor years, thus limiting the opportunities for Marata.

While CHN has had the opportunity to play outside origin halves.

Too small a sample size but I agree that Niukore's lesser attack has something to do with the players feeding him the ball. But I also worry that he plays a bit too much like Moeroa. Hopefully one of them can develop something different. Or Moeroa moves to middle

Always thought we haven’t used Moeroa skill set to its full potential on the edge. We never really have set plays using him.

Flanagan is a very real chance my friends. He is definitely on the radar and I expect a media report about it as soon as the Sharks finish their campaign for this season.
I'm actually warming to getting Flanagan. There's apprehension about just how much he brings and how much is the roster. But I think he may be the personality we need to unlock correct attitudes in our roster. Still if all the other shit isn't sorted out, any coach brought in is just papering over the same shit happening now, i.e. can't have Flanagan coming in without assistants and probably HOF. Anyone know his relationship with Brian Smith? Were they at club at similar time?

I think Tepai is abtter in the middle when he was in the font row the other week he was alot more invloved..

Manu is almost past his used by date.

Manu just turned 30 and has only 90 odd first grade games. Not like he is a 30yld who has been battered for 200+ games. His form early in year was poor but before injury he stepped up. I still see 2 good year from him

Can anyone here confirm that Addin Fonua-Blake is off contact? If he is my God....I would be going very hard on this guy. Only 22 yrs only played 60 odd NRL games. Just coming into his own now. Hell even if he is not off contract, I would be offering him enough to entice him to break the contract and want to come to Parra. With all the coaching crap going on at Many right now you never know it might be very doable. But this guy is ver very good and will only get better. Pisses on anything we have at the club right now. Him and Junior would be an impressive pare to build our frontrow punch from and give the rest of the team some space to work with.

Kikau is a great example.
He is almost a year older then Tepai and 2 yrs then Marata.
Last season he played 9 games and off bench.
He had 9 tackle breaks and 2 offloads.

A year later he is a weapon. 100 tackle breaks and 40 offloads.

2017 he just wasnt ready for first grade. But this year his body was ready amd fitness.
I am not sure what to make of a guy with 14 games at that age. Id give them 50 before judge and want to see them when 23yld before completely judge due to physical side and muscle mass.

He does need an offload. So does Tepai who in lower grades was an offload master. BA restricts them imo.

Great news if true.
Can I ask how you know this? Inside info?

Lets hope the club is proactive next year on the coaching front. Give BA 10 games to prove himself, say he must win 6-7 games, if he doesn't give him the flick.

I'd employ a coach for Wenty ready to step into BAs shoes if he does badly. Again their proposal is to win 6-7 of 10 games to qualify. There is Maguire available, a recognised f/g coach but he is only good for 3 years. Has a good resume' but the Souths team he inherited already had good players. Or we could go a little left field, say the Walker Bros or Demetriou. Or are any other f/g coachs available?
i'd give the walker bros ago something out of the ordinary just might be the thing to get us going

Apparently Isaac Moses is pushing for Todd Payten to replace BA.
God I just love the influence of the filthy 4%'ers on our game.

Is this for real or a gee up?

I know Isaac and Mitch wanted Payten to get the job at the Tigers but have heard nothing about it at Parra.

Mitch is a shit stain and the baggage he brings with his manager is not worth it

Bubblebum had finished playing before BS turned up I thought? Was he a coach in the lower grades or something?
