Rumours and Stuff

Lets hope the club is proactive next year on the coaching front. Give BA 10 games to prove himself, say he must win 6-7 games, if he doesn't give him the flick.

I'd employ a coach for Wenty ready to step into BAs shoes if he does badly. Again their proposal is to win 6-7 of 10 games to qualify. There is Maguire available, a recognised f/g coach but he is only good for 3 years. Has a good resume' but the Souths team he inherited already had good players. Or we could go a little left field, say the Walker Bros or Demetriou. Or are any other f/g coachs available?

Who? Crighton and CHN. Both ideal 18-26 squad memebers at this stage.
We have Ferguson who is best back or top 5 i should say in game along with Jnr.
Lanes forms been exciting. Do people realise it is his first full season without injuires?

Lane has been great and its not like Manly have been going well enough to make him look better than he is...

Ferguson is one I am interested in watching to see if he keeps up the form or slips into the Eels abyss....

8Alvaro
9Mahoney
10Jnr
11Tepai
12Manu
13 Brown

14 T rex
15 Kafusi
16 Lane
17 Terepo

Mannah,Evans,Stone,Niaukore,Kaysa, Stefano.

If we sign anyone else it should be young and promising or needs a chance. Unless something very good comes available and we can release Mannah or Evans. And means t rex or Kafusi are demoted.
Disagree. Unless someone very good becomes available (including young potentials), I'd be avoiding any youngsters (unless they have genuine potential - but then why would they be available?). I'd be signing Goweresques to 1 year or 2 year if they taking very minimal salary

Corey Harawira-Naera - Marata is better then him
.

Marata is a better defender than CHN (though CHN isn't bad). Attacking on the edge Marata is almost a non entity while CHN is very good:

CHN - 2017 (debut year): 20 games, 6 tries, 13 line breaks , 44 tackle busts (2.2 a game) 22 offloads, 27.7 tackles a game , (2.8 missed a game)

CHN - 2018: 22 games, 6 tries, 3 try assists, 34 tackle busts (1.54 a game), 8 line breaks, 38 offloads, 407 tackles , 45 missed tackles (2.04 a game), 90% effectiveness

Marata - 2018: 14 games, 0 tries, 0 try assists, 15 tackle busts (1.07 a game), 0 line breaks, 0 offloads, 349 tackles, 18 missed tackles (1.29 a game), , 95% effectiveness

Yeah not quite seeing what everyone else sees in Niukore. Runs hard but needs to run better lines. That said we could have a 5 on 1 overlap and still struggle to put someone through the line

Yep. The fact he hasn't made one line break and only busts 1 tackle a game (on the edge!) is very concerning.

Quite possibly. Tepai also has an issue with running the right lines / breaking the line on the edge.

I remember 1 game last season Moses and Tepai linked up down short/blind side. Tepai ran nice and hard through the line , Thought cant wait to see more of that.................

Can anyone here confirm that Addin Fonua-Blake is off contact? If he is my God....I would be going very hard on this guy. Only 22 yrs only played 60 odd NRL games. Just coming into his own now. Hell even if he is not off contract, I would be offering him enough to entice him to break the contract and want to come to Parra. With all the coaching crap going on at Many right now you never know it might be very doable. But this guy is ver very good and will only get better. Pisses on anything we have at the club right now. Him and Junior would be an impressive pare to build our frontrow punch from and give the rest of the team some space to work with.

Mate if it were up to me I wouldn't be renewing Tep's contract when it runs out unless he was willing to accept around $200-250k for the solid defender that he is. I would use his estimated 400-500K on a player that is great at both attack and defense.

We can not be spending decent coin on players that are bog average forwards in particular that can not run lines or break tackles, or use their feet to at least stay out of harms way and continually get concussion. Defense is great and expected from an elite forward, but what is also expected is for that forward to break the line and hurt the opposition fairly regularly too.

We shouldn't go anywhere near players with neck tattoos.

Damn!

I would still put feelers out for him and see if he would be willing to jump ship. Try to get his manager on our side to work on him. With one of his current team mates already on their way here you never know he already has a friend And with Many's issues at present, it is a very opportune time to prey on them. By 2020 if he keeps improving the way he has been this bloke will be worth at least around $700-800k to the Eagles and almost impossible to prise him away from them.

Now is the time to strike and it also would crush those freakin Eagles even more. Yeah!

I tend to agree.

Tepai should be better than Cordner for the Roosters...
