Morgan signs with St Helens

Melbourne centre Ryan Morgan will be on the move again at the end of the year after signing with Super League club St Helens. Morgan joined the Storm mid-season after an 84-game stint with Parramatta.

Great news! The daily telegraph is reporting that the great Jeff Robson is extending another year. Specialist halfback found!

With no quality halves available for 2017, I think an experienced head in Robson who is familiar with our system and Corey's game is probably the best option for 2017.

I'll take a year with Robson if it means we can get a serious long term buy in halfback next year.

But I wouldn't mind giving Fogarty a run next year, if he makes it through our toughest pre-season ever of course..

But Robson would be our best back up half we've had for a while. Hell, I'd be happy if he took IDG's spot next year.

I agree. He would be another fullback playing out of position. I'd prefer Blake Green to Lolohea (as a half). And I'm aware Lolohea is a much better player. But you wouldn't get value out of him anywhere but fullback. He won't be cheap.

Yeah. He could come as fullback and might be worth it as currently French is too small (and might always be) and Gutherson unproven, but I reckon BA is banking on one of those two to play there.

Robson will be 35 next year. He has no running , kicking or passing game, in a position where you need at least two of those things. But as long as we are saving money right?

Now let's sign a front line 7, 9, and/or 10 with our spare $1million (+ Morgs' money, now that he's signed overseas).

In 13 games this year halfback Robson has:

3 try assists
2 linebreaks
3 LBA's

That is f**king deplorable for a halfback. So what if he is cheap, he offers f**k all. Opposition defences know he isn't a threat and shut down his side of the field with ease.

And his defence is over rated. He misses a couple of tackles a game (which is ok) but he always gives up a quick play the ball as he is a legs tackler.
