No doubt he is, was 2nd in dally m last year. Has had a bad season with injuries and not in a great side.
Will be 32 next season and on the cheap wouldnt be to bad. 250-300k would be a good buy.Low risk if he isnt playing well

how has that gone for us the last 30 years?????
What the hell difference does a fans opinion make on the footy teams performance?

You think BA reads the forum in the morning when he has his coffee and says "oh no, hineyrulz from LeagueUnlimited thinks singing Robson was a bad idea, better go tear up his contract right now".

Have your own opinion, that's fine, but get over yourself if you think any fans opinion has ANY baring on how the team goes, in any way at all.

Agree no doubt his value is above $300k if not here certainly in UK.
If he wants one last pay day he can go to England.

You asked earlier is he even better than Robbo. To even be asking that question shows how past it he is and he's worth not much than minimum these days.

Source???

The Dragons don't want him for 300k so why should we???
Because they need Benji to be the go-to guy. He's not up to it anymore so they have to recruit another.

We have Normz so if we got Benji (not saying we should) he would only need to worry about shifting the ball and 5th tackle options.

I worry about his D but.

We don't actually know how much the Dragons offered, or who knocked back whom. There could be interpersonal issues that are in the way as well. Benji Marshall used to be one of the best playmakers in the game, and obviously still believes he is important. An insecure coach is unlikely to want that kind of personality around.

Yep. His defence is the only risk. His playmaking and kicking are still comfortably NRL standard.

Defence can be fixed with the right attitude and playing in a better defensively structured side. It's not like he is in Sandow's class. He actually has a go.

If BA had any sense he would.

And while we are all arguing about the merit of signing Marshall based on his poor form this year. I wonder if it's also his experience that BA is looking at. We have a pretty young / inexperienced side and someone like Marshall could potentially be a good influence to have for "of the field stuff", training, leadership etc.

If it's for 1 year, it's not a huge issue how much we pay him as long as you don't overpay him at the expense of other signings. For arguments sake though if you had 24 players signed, needed a half to fill out ranks and had $300k available (although leeway can be a good thing) you'd probably just give it to that 25th player
