He was still one of our best players. He dropped the ball more than usual but otherwise his performance wasn’t much different to previous years. But like most smaller outside backs he struggled behind a beaten team.

Sent to Wenty to find some form, some even say he was dropped. Also Shopped around to rival clubs.

And he was the best you say? Ok then..

Shopped because he’s overpaid. He’s the only contract remaining from when we had TPAs.

Played for Wenty but only when first grade had the week off.

So you think another club will sign him?

What are the chances of a champion player becoming a great coach? The only big club that tried in recent memory is the Roosters with Fittler.

Your guess is as good as mine.

As much as I like Fitler and think he would make a good coach if he stuck at it long enough, Cronk is at another level.

Fittler likes his gig as SOO coach. But, he's nowhere near Mal. He'd never come to Parra.

I wonder if anyone else thinks he was our best last year.

Maybe if you meant best at f#^king up an opportunity or try, I’d agree with you.

Are you referring to Parra's coaching environment? If so he can always change that right? Just like ALL the other 15 NRL coaches do. So how is that even a factor?
I’m sure Paul Green, Anthony Siebold, Wayne Bennett, Neil Henry, Des Hasler, Trent Barrett, Shane Flanagan, Dean Pay, Michael Maguire, Ivan Cleary, Anthony Griffin and BA would have zero impact on Cronks decision on your offer to join a “no excuses” club.

f**k me he didn’t even want to play here

My take is that guys like Fittler and A.Johns are the sort of bloke's that the game came easy to when they played. The longer they'd, hypothetically, coach a team the more they'd get frustrated with the lack of skills/results by the players they're coaching.... I reckon they'd be poor recruiters, looking for the flashy game breakers exclusively...

Cronk on the other hand, was never a naturally gifted player who things came easy to. Worked and studied hard and if he chose to turn his hand to coaching, might just do a decent job, I suspect would have a longer coaching career than most if he chose to go down that path... Which I doubt he will... Phil Gould was widely regarded as one of the smartest players to play top grade but his physical attributes never allowed him to reach the heights others did, but he was able to apply his insights as a 2 Time premiership winning coach

What does 17 have to do with 18?? Players age and slow down. He seems to have lost his explosive speed. It happens to the best of players.
They don’t slow down in the space of a season unless they have a serious leg injury.

The only difference I saw between 2017 and 2018 Jennings was dropped ball and opportunities. In 2018 he was isolated a lot more in defence and had fewer one-on-one opportunities in attack. The dropped balls are down to poor form (frustration and concentration) not old age.

I am going to have to disagree here. I find that the older i get, the more I need to concentrate in order to 'perform' and the more I concentrate, the more frustrated I get.

It's a vicious circle this old age and performance thing, isn't it @Twizzle , @Gazzamatta, @lingard?

In 2018 he got found out in defence many many times, and missed many opportunities of scoring tries, he wasn’t the same player to previous years. Suggesting he was one of our best is a far stretch. He was copping it deluxe from everyone here very often. The only players I think that were worse that played a few games were French and w Smith. I’m not so sure even taka was as diabolical to him.
