In this day and age of airport security screening, how do you bring your own alcohol and start drinking in flight? Like Duty free or something? You're not meant to open those til you land.
Well, I'm not sure that Tonga International Airport is quite up there with Dubai.
But let's say he bought Duty Free, and opened it in the departure lounge, and drank half of it there. Then pours the remainder into a coffee cup, and left the bottle at the airport. Wouldn't be hard, and there's nothing to account for (nobody at the other end of the flight cross-checks with Tonga Customs that you've still got your bottle).
And of course.......the air crew were apparently trying to tell him that 'you're not supposed to do that'.
