The Eels have put a number on what they think he is worth. Now he can go away and see if anyone else thinks he is worth more. He will come back to Parra and see if they want to match it. If it’s not something ridiculous (which I seriously doubt anyone would offer him) then I imagine the Eels will pay a little bit extra to keep him.

Without his injury history that would probably (just) be a fair price. But that's a big risk for a bloke that has had a major knee injury.

Agree it is a risk but it’s only a $50-$100k additional risk (allegedly) being the difference in what we have offered and this $700k asking price. I reckon it’s a risk we can afford considering our current available cap space for 2019 and beyond, what Gutho brings to the table and the lack of alternatives.
