Rumours and Stuff

The media infuriate me, all they have gone on about this whole week is about how much of a mess we are not committing to re-signing these players in the space of a month.

Rewind to last year, actually even rewind to a month ago and the same media personalities were bagging the shit out of our roster saying we need a complete overhaul and destined for the spoon.

They all have very short memories and are seriously clueless, just because we aren’t diving in head first throwing ridiculous money at players they wanna crucify us.

Good on the club and good on Bernie for giving it back these halfwits, well done and I agree with everything they are doing.

I hope they get deals done for all the players like Moses, Gutho, Brown and mainly BA, as I think they should be here next year. But it HAS to be at the right price.

Someone that actually spoke to Dylan has said that he expects to be running again in the next 2 weeks, and if no reaction play shortly afterwards. See how good those rumours are, like any injury however, there is always a chance for a relapse .

The new Ethan Lowe. Sooooooooo rangy.

Nah but he's a pretty decent player, I'd take him for sure.

Outside of potential Immortal level palyers in Cronk and Inglis, can you provide an example of a regular Storm player who has performed better outside of the Storm system?

Consensus = One guy saying he has it on good authority and one guy agreeing and then another saying the next time we'll see him is in Warriors colours. Consensus!

Agree. FMD they pulled him up when he was showing signs of an overuse injury which, if left unattended, could lead to stress fractures. His body just needs to heal and then the staff will give him a new training regime.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Was your post not indicating Christian Welch, a regular Storm player, would be a good buy?

I made a comment about the commentators opinions of him, and said he was a decent player and I'd take him if we did sign him.

Your responding question is totally irrelevant and nonsensical...although that's not a surprise, really, from you.

But we'd pay overs for a bloke where the evidence overwhelmingly suggests he won't be as good as expected. Why would you want to take someone if that was the case?

Ask the bloke who posted that he'd be a good signing, and stop trying and failing at being faux-intellectual, because I could not care less about whatever bullshit you're trying to talk.

We lost last week, I'd have thought it was high time for you to take another break from supporting the team...

I see it too, but the club was very clear on it's timeline. And I don't think it's too much to ask for the players to continue to put in. The were dismal last year and still have a bit to prove. We are still only 3/2. Good signs, but it's a long season.

I agree with what you're saying.

But we have to remember that these guys are human beings - they will want to know who their boss is, and if it isn't who they want, or there is uncertainty, then it is natural that their performance may suffer for it.

You'd expect professional athletes to give 100% every time; however, their humanity will probably weigh in at some point.

I didn’t read the article, but it’s a crisis if we offered him (BA) a deal last year, it’s a crisis if we offered him a deal before a ball is kicked and it’s a crisis if we’re holding out till June. The players don’t dictate who the coach is, nor should they. After an abysmal 2018 the clubs retention committee wants to ensure they make the right call. If the eels go on to feature in this years semis, and resign the bulk of off contract players, are any of the media outlets going to backtrack?

Definitely makes sense, and I agree with you.

Just saying that, while I don't agree with Hooper, I can see his point of view.

You do realise that our error rate was horrendous and almost all our own doing? That comes down to lack of detail and concentration, which means in a nutshell they didn't play well.
I agree they didn't play well. I just disagree they were unable to compete physically.

Even last year when we were smaller but fitter, our problem wasn't that we were outmuscled. It was that we lacked teamwork, which led to consistently losing the possession battle. That made it look like we were outmuscled/unfit/whatever.
