Moylan can’t even be approached until November and isn’t off contract until 2021.

I don’t think we wanna wait until the off season and hope to whether we have a fullback for 2020

What's a contract these days?

That 1 year before the contract is up is just a guideline anyway.

All have played well in strong NRL teams. And Gutherson has looked garbage when his team isn't going well.
Gutho has only had one shocker this year. In our losses, Gutho got the 3 points against the Roosters on here and over 25% of voters gave him 1 point in the player votes against the Raiders.

He’s a completely different prospect this year.

Not consistently. They have had the odd decent game. None of them have ever held down the fullback position in first grade. Because they are shit.
To use Pou’s language, they are all very much depth/back up players. Their place in our roster confirms as much. I don’t want our first choice fullback to be of a genuine fringe first grader standard, particularly with a 5/8 under 20 years of age and a hooker who is 21.

I wouldn’t wish this on any player but Ayoub and Gutho are taking a huge risk themselves.

That knee goes again before he commits somewhere and it’s curtains. Sure we are potentially risking losing him for 50k, but he’s risking more I would say.

Ok I’d wish it on Daryl Halligan in 1998...

How about the third placed Rabbitohs, with Johnston? Or the fourth placed Raiders with CNK? Or the fifth placed Eels with Plod Gutherson?

French would be a very good fullback behind a strong pack. We could spend our money there instead. And Moses is a more important re-signing than Gutherson.
Moses is definitely worth more.

Hoffman has played 92 NRL games at fullback, with the same win rate as Gutherson (54%), who only has 28 games at the back. Hasn't exactly 'held down the fullback position in first grade". French hasn't played first grade since he was 22 years old FFS, but his win rate at fullback is nearly as good (53%) in his 19 games.

I'd say Gutherson is the best of the three but depending on the team's style of play there's a merkinhair in it.

Fair point about Will Smith though (18 games at fullback for 28% wins).

You understand ‘captain’ is an extra job that requires more work? Like being the WHS rep. If you’re lumped with that you should expect more money, not less.

Well some people just like to lead. At work if there is 3 or 4 of us on a job getting paid equal I take charge happily. It means I can give the shit jobs to others.

If it’s even money he may go as it’s “home” and let’s be honest, living in Manly slightly more appealing than Parramatta.

If you like the beach and pommies then yes.

Parra is the 2nd biggest city in Sydney. Transport and food options are superior to Manly.
But is there a rule that you have to live in same place you work?

I will throw it out there.
