Hoffman has played 92 NRL games at fullback, with the same win rate as Gutherson (54%), who only has 28 games at the back. Hasn't exactly 'held down the fullback position in first grade". French hasn't played first grade since he was 22 years old FFS, but his win rate at fullback is nearly as good (53%) in his 19 games.

I'd say Gutherson is the best of the three but depending on the team's style of play there's a merkinhair in it.

Fair point about Will Smith though (18 games at fullback for 28% wins).

Hoffman hasn’t played fullback consistently in first grade for years. In fact he hasn’t played anywhere in the back line consistently for years. He doesn’t even get the regular fullback gig in reserve grade FFS. Often Bevan French or even Will Smith gets the nod in front of him at Wenty who we just agreed is Crap

Bevan French is a twig who does not like physicality. That is why he’s a reserve grader.

How is he f**king it up if we offer $650k and we refuse to meet his asking of $750k (obviously amounts are guesses) ?

Extra $100k for gutho, extra $50k for mannah extra $75k for Manu, extra $50k for Jennings to stay, all starts to add up.

Can’t see any problem with the club setting a value and sticking to it.

Also it’s not like gutho has been playing like the first 6 rounds for the last 2-3 years, to show he can consistently perform at the level a $750k deal deserves.

So they quote merkiny in the article saying "“He’s a Manly junior, he played at Manly until getting release a couple of years ago when he kept getting the knee reconstructions - he had a couple of them back to back - which made them think it might be time to let him go.".

Truth is:
1. His release wasn't "a couple of years ago" - it was in 2015, so 4 years ago.
2. He didn't "keep getting the knee reconstructions" - they released him during his recovery from his first reconstruction and within 5 months of signing him to a new 2 year contract.
3. His "back to back" reconstructions were actually 46 first grade games in a row apart from each other (over 18 months) so not exactly back to back.

How does the media get away with such blatant lies?

About $650k is the correct figure imo. Not an elite fullback in the Tedesco or Slater mold who are worth more but a big offer for Lattrell to play fullback and Guth to centre would completely transform Parra.

You do know you can approach the club and make an enquiry don't you. Happens all the time with other clubs but apparently not ours according to some of our fans. The Nikorima potential move is a current case in point.

What is with this obsession to turn great wingers into fullbacks. Great fullbacks into 5/8s etc.

Semi is the best winger in the world. To play fullback he'll need to lose a lot of weight as he will be running more than 10km per match. Then you have to hope that he as the aerobic capacity to cope with the increased workrate.

Latrell isn’t a fullback. He doesn’t have the fitness and I doubt the ability to get it, he just doesn’t have the build for the level of fitness required.

Sorry but hasn't shown enough to me to believe he'll only ever be a fringe first grader. Tell me one game where he has shown anything like taking control, or doing a fancy play or dominating his opposition, anything special? Just appears to be coasting along to me and we're not a team able to afford players coasting.
