I think just about everyone agrees that IF Manly have offered Gutho $750K a year then he can go

but, he hasn't signed or signalled an intention to sign

I saw an article this morning suggesting that Manly want to meet with the Guthbus. If what we are supposedly told about Manly's offer to Guth is true, then surely they have already spoken to him.

If Guth had met with Manly then all other media outlets would be all over it, not just these two pretend journos.

I think its safe to conclude that Manly haven't offered shit and its all just Ayoub talking shit. Manly may have some interest in Guth but I dont believe any offer has been made and a lot of this is just media beat up by 2 so called journos to help Ayoub play his game.

The other factor is now it’s out there that we offered $X, why would Moanly offer $X+100k?

Going by everything he's said so far he's left it all to Ayoub and isn't involved at all. I have the feeling he's being unjustly tarnished by all of this.

I do think it's hillarious how he can go from "The King, the greatest player at Parramatta" to "He's a grub, get rid of him" in a matter of weeks based on a few newspaper articles and nothing more. Fans on the whole are a dumb, misinformed, gullible bunch of idiots.

Rubbish. It's only causing distractions if you believe they all sit around after training reading the papers.

Many players have gone on record saying they never read the media for this exact reason. I can't say I blame them.

There are fans right now that believe manly have put a 750K/3 year offer on paper in front of Gutho, when it's a blatant lie. Explain to me how that isn't gullible?

Thats what we figure. Unfortunately being the captain its a tad dissappointing hes not included his team mates as part of the reason "he comes here". Maybe miss quoted or selective quoting.

In that context yeah maybe but hes been here long enough to acknowledge, even just a little, that he likes his team mates as well. I still reckon he will stay but like I said yesterday re BA, maybe the dogs are barking and Gutho knows it.

A little bit overs is understandable, but Gutherson is worth $500k as a player. You merkins are vastly overrating him based on a narrow sample behind a team playing well.

Well if we aren't playing well, who give a toss. Won't matter or amount to much, either way.

But if he keeps delivering when we are winning then he is doing what most good players do, play well when the whole team is playing well and supporting one another.

Only extraordinary or high quality rep players can keep playing well when the team is crap and I think most here have made up their minds that he is just outside of that rep player category. Only just though. That is why he is worth somewhere between $600-700K.

It's not so narrow a sample size when you consider how well he was playing before his injury and now once fully fit in a team that is having a go.

Latest news bulletin , Gutho was hurt by the initial offer from the club.

Well , the fans werent hurt by Last seasons performance by you and your mates, there is unfortunately no sense of realism from players, there is also a bargaining period on contracts and as before , not sure the initial offer after ACLs and the season should have been north of $450/$500k, but that's history.

Whilst it's easy to say fans shouldn't get upset, players are willing to get lauded and bask in glory when things are going in the right direction, but the petals are immune from criticism. When he's being offered close to 10X what a lot of supporters earn each year, comes over as unnecessary.
