Are you suggesting that all homos aren’t religious?

My friend is gay and she prays every night. I asked about this situation and was told bible doesnt actualy mention this directly.

The way I see it. He was asked not too and he went and did it again.
Izzy defense is he thinks he is doing something right and trying to help people. I doubt he would think homosexuality is genetics. I've heard blokes at work say Gay men are guys who just can't get laid so they just f**k each other.
Not everyone thinks the same. There are still people around who would like to bash gay people.

Izzy did not kill someone. I agree he was asked to shut up so should of as rugby was his employee. But people get offended over anything these days.

Oh I don't think I'd have fired Izzy (I think he's odd on to win his appeal). But the fact that there's worse idiots out there is not super relevant to that outcome.

The thing that makes me laugh about Izzy is the very selective choice of Old Testament statements that he decides to discuss. Homosexuality is not a major theme of the bible. just like 'every man for themselves' is not the central tenet of Buddhism.

The Bible isn't the only religious book. The majority of places in the world where homosexual sex is illegal aren't Christian.

Why shouldn't people pick and choose the parts of religion they feel applies the most? I'm sure you'd agree religion doesn't work as just a list of rules. Clearly discernment is required or different types of people wouldn't be drawn to religion in the first place. There's always a hook. The parts we don't like obviously matter less than the parts we do. Just like non-religious humans and their worldviews.

There are people that search for posts to be outraged about, doubt that most people saw what Izzy posted as more than his belief system.

Silly to put that up given the usual social media outrage phenomena, doubt it would have been more than a slap on the wrist for him, if not for the parlous state of yawnion and the self centred influence of Alan Joyce.

The difference is that non-religious humans don't claim some overriding special superior authority based on a book of dubious authorship and containing some forms of behaviour by God that are just plain repulsive. Too much smoting and murder for me. Non-religious people may refer to logic or reason, or just plain self-interest, but they get no special privilege or protection when they do it.

@Barry O'Speedwagon what then do you make of Peter Beattie's pronouncement that he will not be welcome in RL. If his appeal is upheld and he is found to have been wrongly dismissed by RU.
