Poor Israel getting battered pillar to post, loses his job over it, and we have some twats last night refuse to sing the national anthem running around on the big stage.
Can you blame them? The anthem tells us that people who were born overseas are as Australian as people whose ancestors were here forty thousand years ago. They obviously disagree.

And? Isn’t Australia a multicultural society? Refusing to sing it is very disrespectful to who we are as a nation.

Does similar apply to players who transfer to a different club when asked to sing the team song? Should Mennings, Nrown, Lane etc say fu*k you when asked to sing Click go the Shears?
Will the Tarsha Gale Eels players refuse to sing "flick goes the ball from man to man"?

Well let's not ask any difficult questions. Hundred kilo millionaire athletes are virtuous victims and need to be treated delicately.

OK, you don't understand, I get that, but don't pretend depression in the gay community doesn't exist,, especially the younger more influenced ones

https://lgbtihealth.org.au/statistics/

But yeh, being told they will go to hell will help cheer them the f**k up

I would get told I am going to hell all the time.
As a 5yld I just had nightmares and urinated in my bed but that faded and by age 10 I started to not believe in it all. I think it can be quite traumatic being told your going to burn in hell as a child.
As an adult I just couldn't give a f**k.

Izzy did not kill someone. I agree he was asked to shut up so should of as rugby was his employee. But people get offended over anything these days.

No he didn’t kill anyone, but young people would rather die than “ come out” I believe he is a selfish person by nature and this comment was no different, don’t like him...never have!

Maybe latrell and Walker were more concerned about the anthem than their performance?

Then you can understand why some people who believe in a common idea of a bad place may take offence to being told they’ll be headed there. Whether they should take offence is neither here nor there when your argument stems around accepting (or not taking offence) to one marginalisation to the detriment of another

Here is my atheist / agnostic view. It is not the notion of going to hell that is the hate speech factor. It’s the inference that adulterous homosexuals drunks liars thieves atheists and whatever an idolatrous merkin is - will get what they deserve in the end and will suffer because of their “failings”.

It’s about saying they don’t belong in society.

It’s about making you think they’re dangerous or living a life that is contrary to “good”.

It’s about convincing people of his kind to fear or loath others.

What really gets up most people’s nose Is the righteous judgement of others who are basically good people and valuable contributors to society. Hence the global “f**k you” retort to Izzy.

No wonder his employers warned him about his public utterances were damaging their brand.

happened to me as a 5 year old as well, being educated at good ol' St Pats at Parra the brain washing was forced on us using motivation by fear, the fear being the fires of hell that you were in for if you didn't believe the the faith being forced upon you and passed the test

as soon as I was old enough the question the faith, technically referred to as the "age of reason" I questioned everything I was being forced to believe in and began to despise not only the faith but the methods of the nuns

Religion was a subject that we had to pass

I dont think Izzy has ever reached the age of reason as he still seems to be brain washed

But from his point of view he isn't wishing his hell on anyone, he genuinely doesn't want people to go there. It's the old analogy, if someone is about to walk into a fire you stop them. From his point of view, if he stays quiet, then people are walking into that fire, and to not warn them is unloving. That's the perspective he is coming from.

I disagree with Izzys hell and I think the theology has been messed up but I can understand or see it from his view to some degree. Does Izzy want gays to burn? If he did, then that's hate speech, does he want to save them from burning, then he's trying to help from his perspective.

Yes I agree that there is no intentional malice, however the (unintended) consequences was that it vilified homosexuality. Whilst a liar or an adulterer can “repent” and walk his path to salvation, a gay person does not have that choice.

Interesting. As a child even at 5 I was always ready to do and things just too see the devil face to face.
I recall a dream being taken away with his pitch fork holding my footy.
But I woke the next morning alive and then started to work out perhaps this Devil guy is bullshit.
I even stole money from church when I was about 8 just to test this Devil guy out.....
