Knights won’t be paying everything for Jesse to play with someone else
They will if they want to get rid of him otherwise be paying for him playing reserve grade. They're struggling with the cap so desperate to get rid of him so will be paying something unless another club pays the full amount (and that will be a stupid or desperate club).

Gutho sent CW a nice text message. Blah blah blah

As revealed by foxsports.com.au in NRL Scout, Welch has activated a one-year contract clause in his favour at Melbourne, meaning his employment in 2020 is guaranteed.

But he’s been in discussions with the Eels, among other clubs, to potentially jump ship before next season.

Now facing the possibility of being unable to play football for most of 2020, Welch suddenly finds himself in an awkward contract limbo.

But there remains a strong chance he and Gutherson could be teammates at some stage soon.

I heard Parra pulled their contract after ACL injury. But that is paper talk so how truthful that is, and your post based on Foxsports, is always open to conjecture.

EELS’ BATTLE FOR HOFFMAN

Parramatta have tabled an offer to keep Josh Hoffman, but they may have a fight on their hands.

The versatile outside back has played 10 games and scored five tries this season, as the Eels have shot up the ladder to occupy sixth spot.

Hoffman has often found himself playing at centre this year and despite the Eels’ rising stock, he is said to be tempted to return home to Queensland.

His former club, the Broncos, are well-stocked in the outside backs, while the Cowboys have a number of players off contract.

The Titans would perhaps be the most likely of destinations given the under-fire roster is lacking experience, especially in the outside backs.

Brenko Lee, Jesse Arthars and Michael Gordon are all departing the club, meaning the Titans have cap space and need strong defenders out wide if they are to avoid back-to-back wooden spoons.

Hoffman played 49 games at Robina, not missing a single fixture before being shunted out to make room for Jarryd Hayne in 2017.
I find this hard to believe, that we are fighting to keep him and other clubs clamoring to get him. I call this false news from his manager trying to get something for him next year.

How did Sammy Burgess manage to escape suspension? Even his coach implied that it was an illegal tackle. Penrith would be dirty. And Moylan gets to sit out this weekend's game.

Bewildering decision. We’ve had players suspended for way less and his track record isn’t good. The nrl is a joke at the moment.

Think you making stuff up, where are they struggling with the cap, how are they desperate? Jess is the one that wants out!

Additionally he is only on $250k, so I reckon he will have no problems getting an offer of least that amount, if not more......

A bloke trips someone and gets 1 week and another bloke smacks someone in the head, knocks him out cold before he hits the deck and gets nothing...
Seems fair

From NRL.com

Burgess dodged suspension after his legal rep Nick Ghabar drew comparisons with previous grade one charges levelled against Brisbane's Matt Lodge and Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

Sam Burgess placed on report for tackle on Moylan

NRL counsel Peter McGrath had described Moylan as "effectively a rag doll" the moment he was collected by Burgess due to the force of the tackle.

"He dropped the ball, his eyes closed. He lost all control," McGrath said.

But Lodge's shot on Parramatta's Peni Terepo last year – for which the Broncos prop escaped suspension – made for a particularly favourable example.

Ghabar contended that Lodge's swinging arm that collected Terepo's chin was "grossly careless" and "entirely unnecessary", yet still only worthy of a grade one charge.

"How can it be this particular tackle is being suggested to be twice as bad as the other tackles [shown]?" Ghabar asked.

After over an hour of evidence, former players Mal Cochrane, Dallas Johnston and Tony Puletua reduced Burgess's charge to grade one, allowing him to avoid what would have been the eighth suspension of his career.

Yes, I read that. So they have made mistakes in the past and now are forced to perpetuate them in the name of 'precedent'. Amateurs.

I thought I heard that all precedents were out the window and they were starting fresh ? If true, then they have gone right back to their soft cock ways and created wet lettuce punishments all over again.

Especially in this environment of increased concern around head injuries and concussion.

Peni got 3 weeks didnt he?
Then again they could give any Parra player whatever they want without fear of it being challenged.

You do realise that we need to fill a part time squad next year as we’re now back to running a reserve grade team?
The offer could well be outside the 30.

If that’s the case, are we really “fighting” for him?

Not much of a fight if we’re offering the bottom end of the top 30 or less.

If he's really on unders there will be clubs competing for his signature. They'll be offering more than he's on at the Knights.

I want to know why he wasn't sent to the bin during the game...

Evans get sin binned after the Dragons players runs into his chest..

Alvaro get KO'd on the first tackle and the player that hit him high doesnt get sin binned...

Jennings gets binned for hitting a falling player high...

But Burgess is ok to play on?!?!?!
