I started the crowd line in 2010. I remember cause it was after we lost 10 - 6 to Brisbane. Cayless was Captain and we had by memory 15,929 there. Haynes was the try scorer and Humble played in the halves. Look I could be wrong. Was a long time ago and mum memory isn't the greatest. But I remember coming on here making a crowd comment after that game.
I don’t believe you. I only deal in facts

The Wests Tigers will have a $1.7 million war chest for next season with the NRL approving the medical retirement of Kiwi international Ben Matulino and the club agreeing to release Ryan Matterson effective immediately.

In a huge coup for the Tigers, the club will have $1.7 million to spend on improving their roster for premiership-winning coach Michael Maguire next year.

The timing is perfect with November 1 ticking over on Friday and players off contract for 2021 all free agents.

The Matterson issue has been resolved with the Tigers agreeing to cut ties after being unable to negotiate any player trades with rival NRL clubs.

The Parramatta Eels have also tabled an three-year $1.6 million deal for Matterson in the last 24 hours with the club hopeful of landing his signature.

Coupled with Matterson’s money and the release of Kiwi Test centre Esarn Masters to the North Queensland Cowboys and for the first time since ex-coach Cleary signed at the club the Tigers have money in their salary cap.

The Tigers are targeting Gold Coast duo Jai Arrow and AJ Brimson and are also in talks with Dragons backrower Luciano Leilua.
Not a bad deal for Matterson, so Tigers have given up on a player swap also. I'm sure has similar offers from other clubs so up to him to decide which club and hopefully it'll be ours. Will replace a like for like player as Ma'u also has a good skillset but is probably better as has a step before the line. I think Matterson just runs straight. We are still short a centre and fullback replacements in case there are injuries there.

Capewell? Why?

If we want an edge back rower who can't tackle or catch, just use Takairangi
That's a fair point, but we still need some backup in the second roe if Taka is being used in the backline. Davey doesn't sound like he is up to the job.

Well, the available sample is reduced by the fact that several never coached lower grade in this country, e.g. Seibold, Bennett, Trent Robinson.

Ricky Stuart might well be one.
Wasn't Bennett coaching in Qld Cup or whatever it was called back then? I know he was coaching some club up there before he became Broncos first coach.

Personally I'd have Davey there over Capewell based on what I've seen.

Davey might not be exciting or flashy but as a backup he tackles his ring piece out, runs a good line and plays 80 mins of high involvement footy. He might not be up to it, hard to say without seeing the guy at that level... But Capewell is rubbish IMO
