The problem with Pous stats and many stats.
A player can have x factor or energy about him that doesnt show up. Or he could be clutch in a pressure situation.
Kicking a goal from the sideline when it doesnt matter compared to kicking one in a semi final to level it for example......

They aren’t reasons to avoid stats, just context within which to read them.

The players winning stats silly.
He quoted one about Ray Stone who played about 15mins per game. It would have no effect on the games result. Plus 3 or 4 other guys may of been out. Some guys are lucky and play in better sides then others and arent any better players but end up with winning records and a grand final win.

Tackles per minute is the best indicator of repeat efforts, which is a hallmark of the strongest defensive teams. Alvaro won 75% of his games last year, and his teams conceded fewer than 10 points per game. I wish we'd used him in the finals. Our defence was atrocious.

That's how we can enjoy watching 34 dudes running around with a football for 4800 seconds. We focus on the seconds that are more interesting than the others and then tell ourselves they are also the most important.

Stone's win rate is far less important than his WPYSA18, which is very low and makes clear that he isn't a first grader.

It’s amazing how the sample sides vary when they suit a certain opinion..........

95% of plays are the same. And most sides players are quite equal. There is 2 or 3 players in the better sides that separates them from the rest. That's how I see it and I could be wrong.

Do you think there’ll be late season flurries of off contract players in non-finals teams to finals team?
Is it possible player X from the wooden spooners could sign with the minor premiers for next season but get a transfer offer to play against his future team in this years finals?
Will there be loans of players for finals runs?
Should the salaries be annualised?
Will the Scum and Rorters rort the shit out of it?

My opinion is I am sick of rule changes.
Can we just keep it the same for 5yrs

That last line definitely, it’s just another new rule to help the wealthy rich clubs. With us with space under our cap with a few spots in the top 30 it should favour us as well.

yep. Kikau tried to live up to that in the gf and ended up producing a Moses miss kick in front to tie the game. It’s not only having the X factor but it’s producing when required to sway a game at an important time.

Well his career WPYSA18 is only 6.4, which is at the low end of genuine first graders. I'm expecting him to improve the Dragons' defence.
