The club is playing hardball I like it, the Broncos are going to pay 1.2m for 3 years for a bloke who hasn’t even played first grade yet. That used to be us, not being held to ransom by player agents or paying overs for potential. I look at the Tigers throwing big money at talented but rocks and diamond players like Roberts and Big Brain BJ and think thank f**k that’s not us anymore.

We are actually a desired destination again(just like the Chardies) and if Brown thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere good luck to him I’m sure we will have the money to find a quality replacement.

He played 4 games for 3 tries as a 20 year old.

Think he made the NSW 18’s side.

Had all of 2020 off for family reasons according to the Raiders.

Good size, stats (not a huge example) seems to indicate he has gone ok in the NRL.

Has done ok to break into the nrl side this year, after a year off and starting the offseason on a train / trial deal

Seems like he has some potential to be a decent NRL player
And some baggage which might bite again later on.

I think Matto is great, but my priority is Brown. The heart and soul of our club behind Gutho.
He might be quality but is 29 and I think if he leaves we could slot Niukore there without much downside and a cheaper option. He'll either come around and sign at our terms or play for the basket case Manly.

Who??? Who is this BA you speak of???

I think him and his team have done a great job building a roster, I think it’s one of his strengths as a coach. My main problem with him is tactical and his refusal to change things up regarding his assistants. Even his biggest fan has to admit it where he falls down as a coach.

I like Niukore but he is nowhere in Browns league for tempo, effort, and doing the dirty stuff. Don’t care if he is 29 he is getting better every year.

I thought last year and even the start of this year he has taken on a lesser role. Unsure if decline is the word.
But 2017-2019 he looked better to me. 2020 he went back a few steps on the chain of our best forward. Id argue he is behind 3 GUYS now. Rcg,Jnr and Matterson. While Niakuore and Papali are closing in.

I like Brown. He is replaceable however.
If he’s getting big money offers from elsewhere then good on him. He can go and play for a shitty desperate club and lose more games than he wins each year.

He will have heaps of f**ken money to ease that pain though.

The problem with Nrown and our club is that he is capable of playing 80 minutes and making 25 runs for 200 metres. He will want to get paid for that capability, whereas it's not something we need with RCG and Paulo (and Niukore and Papali'i) in our team. Other clubs will have more need of it, so can better justify spending what he's asking for.

Brown brings nice energy. But he just isn't a game breaker. He has good leg speed and acceleration but is put down easy. Maybe one of the easiest of our forwards. I wouldn't want to him for more then 2yrs. I see a rapid decline by 2024.
It will be interesting to see what Stone can bring to the table. 23yld now. Its about the age forwards start to hit straps. By the sounds of it he was impressive in the off season. It is a make or break year for him.

If Brown goes, do we look at Finucane on a decent 2 year deal?

Your missing the point of what we are building. Think Penrith.
See we have a strong 1-13. We also have a bench that is currently full.
Papali,Niakuore, Kafusi. All young and part of the 17. We need pathways. Only one of the following need to step up

Hollis,Hughes,Hipgrave,Stone,Cartwright.

If they force themself into the 17 there isn't a need. I reckon odds are atleast one of them come good.

So 100% of ground capacity able to be used for Round 4. Would be nice to have a packed BankWest on Easter Monday. Pity it's a Tigers home game, we'll be wearing awful jersey's.... Or will we? If they're wearing their predominantly orange strip then maybe we'll have to wear our home Jersey. That'd be nice
