That's very true. It's just not a good reason for the criticism of the player. That's a problem with the people thinking he'd be a superstar.
I think he was a victim of being continually bounced around from middle to edge and never really settling anywhere, and, his hands started letting him down too. The last couple of seasons he bombed a number of tries through poor handling. I actually started to wonder if his eyesight and hand/eye coordination was impacting his play, he was always in spectacles off the field. Dunno if he wore contacts when playing?

I actually think he copped a lot more shit than his form warranted.

Good defender. Attack was rubbish. Remember at one point he was on huge $$
He come into the NRL the same time as the vicous fish with the same wraps. 5yrs later one is in the top 3 props in games while the other couldn't get a contract.
He was one of the most dissapointing overjoyed juniors we've seen along with Kelepi Taningoa.

Well, I can't find any articles that even speculated about his salary when he re-signed in 2017 (through to end of 2019)

EAGLES, EELS EYE WOODS

Manly and Parramatta have made a play for prop Aaron Woods after he was told by incoming Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon he isn’t wanted for next season.

The Sea Eagles and Eels have both spoken to Woods this past week as they seek to bolster their respective forward packs for 2022. Fitzgibbon had a face-to-face meeting with Woods to let him know the Sharks were “moving in a different direction” next year.

Woods, who is in the final year of a three-year deal worth $600,000 annually, is understood to have offered to stay at Cronulla for just $180,000 next year, but Fitzgibbon was clear there was no space for him.

Woods, 30, can expect to earn more than $200,000 wherever he lands next; a big pay-cut from where he’s at but still enough to keep him in Australia and attempt to reignite his career under a new coach.

I think it has more to do with upgrading from Stone and Hipgrave tbh. Neither seem to be genuine first graders. I feel for Stone as he can't put 10 games together without injury.
Hollis can't cement a spot in NSW cup yet. Hughes prob won't be back until next year and a year lost.
