Yep, and I don't rate him as a half all that well, because he is to slow in everything he does. But he is a really good defender. He would probably make a better lock if he put his mind to it. Remember, I said what I said after only watching a handful of games and being very frustrated with Moses's yoyo performances. Notice I said I want to see how he goes. That tells you that I was not convinced yet or had seen enough to make a final call on him. Since then I have seen enough of Lewis to know that he is not a 6 or 7 in this now even faster NRL game. Moses has also gotten somewhat more consistent too. Remember our coach too, wanted to punt Moses at the time for his indifferent performances. So I wasn't alone in not wanting Moses at the time. Since then he had his attitude adjustment and gotten better, but still isn't great, but can do a job for us I suppose.
The point is we are a top 4 team now and we don't need to take risks or sign baggage players that may disrupt our squad. X. Savage is neither of those. He would have been cheap and would have brought what we lack the most. Speed. You just need to watch the way he moves and his hunger for the ball to know he will be successful baring injury. Look there are some players that you kind of get a feel from the moment you see them that they are special. He is one of those. Another resent example, I remember when I watched Brian To'o make his NRL debut, I told my work colleagues at the time that I think that this kid at the Panthers is going to be a real good one. Most laughed at me at the time because they said he was to small. Well guess what?
Like I said, some players just move better and their body language is a little better then the rest or they just seem to know when to be around the ball. Could X. Savage be a one game wonder? Sure, but I wouldn't be betting on it, especially if we keep the wrestle to a minimum and attack is paramount over defense the way it is now.
Look I don't know what some of you people are watching, truthfully, I mean I read here by some of you that Matt Lodge is shite and the game has passed him by with the new rules, yadda, yadda. yadda... Well I think that you are all tripping. The guy has been one of the best for the Bronc's this year and last year too, even while playing busted for a large chunk of it. He was playing in a team of lackluster, undisciplined, young yoyo's that don't have any fortitude or steel in them yet. So sure there were times that he may have looked ordinary. But who hasn't in that team? They've somehow even made P. Haas look second rate at different stages of the last couple of seasons. Point is in a better team that has a little more resilience then the current Broncos have, he will be a very good player. It hasn't taken him long either. He did what he has been doing at the Broncos, but now he has a team around him that are also putting in and look at him now. STAR!
Anyway rant over.
