It’s been happening for ages. A Parra player went to Storm before he went to Manly ? I’m gunna say Ritchie F’asss’so a decade ago. Townsend is at Warriors before he goes to Cows ? Nobody got their tits out then.

Fasso was hardly a 750k calibre player.

Warriors are hardly a premiership threat or even a finals. But to be fair that is true. I also dislike.

Penrith are one of the 2 favourites and have added a guy worth over 700k to their finals side and snared for basicaly a nsw cup priced player. If you do not feel it's an unfair advantage there you're on another planet.

Every other team has the option to do something similar if they have managed their salary cap / roster correctly.

So it’s the circumstances of this instance you don’t like and not that teams are allowed to do it. We’ve told players they are free to go a zillion times. Most recently it was French.

Pangai has been shit for years, plus he’s a dickhead. Suddenly he hits the market and the Dogs are “building nicely”. Who gives a shit, I’m glad we dodged that bullet.

He’s Joe Ofahengaue 2.0.

Fox League did a thing this morning on every club regarding transfers, saying the Eels should splash out for Dugan as he's a better defender than Blake and he's available

him and Fergo would go well together with a couple of Cruisers
Well they did it successfully by not spilling a drop on a roof. So it could work.

Do they though? TPJ might’ve gone to Dogs this year, he probably would’ve gone to any of the top 5 in a particular order but regardless of interest, do you reckon he’d have gone to any of the clubs in between unless absolutely forced to?
I don’t mind if we exploit it but there’s definitely issues with it

Just because TPJ may have only wanted to go to some teams doesn’t make it wrong. Other players like Townsend went to the Warriors who are out of the 8. No one cared about that. Didn’t the Dogs take advantage of the player switch rule with DWZ a couple of years ago? They were still shit then too. It’s open to all teams and heaps of teams have benefited from it at different times, both good and shit teams.

I just think more thought needs to be put into the short term rental player movement market by the NRL

reckon it went like this:

MON - Ah Rankin isn’t travelling with squad. Let’s see who is available as a halves replacement. Milf could be an option
BA - na not that keen on MILF but come back to me if he is available
MON - makes enquires.
Media - gets into media
MON - see’s no value in pursuing. MILF/Broncos asking to much. BA not to keen either.
MON - Case closed.

MON doing his job in keeping on top of the squad management side.
I imagine it went down something like this…

I agree with you. Savage will probably be great. I also agree that some raw speed is one of our missing pieces of a nearly complete puzzle. My argument is with you bollocking the club for not just going out and buying him based on what some crap talker journo made up to make himself look like he is in the know.

And you know this for a fact?

If there was even the slightest chance that the Raiders were thinking of moving him on, we blew it. But if what you say is true then sure I don't think the club have anything to answer to. But whatever the case, the club need to be very proactive in bringing speed to the club and poaching the best young talent around is the quickest way to do that.

Is he better then Pensini and Russel? That's what we need to ask

We have just blooded 2 x Kids who barely played last season and are 18/19. Add Dunster who ind of debut this season also. Well he did get a game in finals last season due to a heap of injuries. But we have perhaps unearthed 3 x backline players in space of 6mths. Haze and Russel are fast.
Guth,Sivo,Waqa,Opacic are already signed. Lets not block their pathways now.

You can never have enough young, cheap, talented and fast players at your club all vying for NRL and putting pressure on the top 17. It hasn't hurt the likes of the Panthers, Roosters or Storm. In fact it has given them the best chance to see who are the best to keep and great depth for injuries and during rep season. Also two of those clubs have been winning all the GF of late and the 3rd is probably just about to.

Bringing a player like X. Savage to our club could only boosted our chances not hurt them in my opinion. Moot point now though. I would be looking at the Manly flyer Tolutau Koula now though.

No they don't. Players of quality will not go to also rans. They will assess and go to the team that has the best chance of winning the GF.

At this stage we don't know, but we do know he can play and is probably the fastest player in the comp. Why wouldn't you have all 3 in your squad with a view to eventually have them all playing in the NRL team. Remember they are all just babies who will happily play anywhere in the team here and there till they are ready fulltime. By then(1, 2 or 3 years away, who knows what our roster will look like and who we have moved on. Fergo for example is gone next year, Savage could easily take that position and play like JAC does for the Storm. Then Pensini could fill in here and there till we move Waqa and same with Opacic. Also Sivo isn't getting any younger or faster either. I dare say by the end of his current contract, we may have better options for him too and the more options we have the better for our club I say. I love competition. It is the best way for long term success and they are all cheap, which is great till we work out who we want and who is surplus to requirements, just like the Panthers have done and doing with all their talent coming through.

Our backline is going to look quite different I would think within 2-3 years. At least I hope so.

Is his heart gonna be in it? .... he has already secured a "real" contract going forward .... he seems to have had some motivational issues in the past
If I was playing for the dysfunctional Broncos I'd have trouble being motivated also and BA better coach than Walters.
